Love You

Good morning crafty friends!  If you were able to tune in early Monday morning, you saw the demo on this card (after we got past the video they had to use because of the IT issue!)  I really wanted to spend a bit more time on the demo and talk about some of the different ways to achieve the same effect, but it was a bit of a rush to get it all finished with the delayed start to the show.  On air, I used the Cosmic Shimmer Lava Red mister with my shaving foam, but you can use a variety of other types of ink products with this technique.  Dye based re-inkers work a treat, as well as any mister, but avoid alcohol inks.  I won't go into a detailed explanation here but there is a step by step tutorial showing how to do the shaving foam technique at the top of my blog.  Just click on the link.  Once you have finished that portion, then make sure your piece has been wiped clean of any residue of the shaving foam (if it feels damp, you a heat tool on it briefly), then cover your piece with a sticky adhesive sheet.  Press any air bubbles out that may be there, then peel off the backing paper and cover with clear micro beads for a completely different look to your piece.  I matted it with red card to give it some definition from my white background.  I cut a larger white mat and stamped the heart stamp all around the edge using a clear perfect medium pad.  I heat embossed the edge with white powder for a tone on tone look.  I stamped my sentiment from Justrite stamps and cut it out with the heart from the Timeless amour set.  I edged the heart with fired Brick distress ink and mounted it up with some foam pieces.  I glued the decorative edge from the heart flat to the micro beaded background.  I pierced around the edges with my piercing ruler to complete my card.   I think this would look lovely done with a silver or a pearl mister to make a wedding card, don't you think?!  Finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Thank you for all the fantastic samples, with many old friends shown, must have taken you days to make - and as Nigel said from the "team of one" (imagining you sitting all on your lonesome for hours on end!)
Particularly liked the pink-and-kraft 'grunge' card and hope this may appear on your blog soon.

  12. Hi Sue, LOVE LOVE LOVE this card , just brilliant. Sat and watched all your shows yesterday , hubby watched the 7pm show too and when you mentioned that a lady had told you she had 1013 dies my hubby looked at me and said do you have that amount too!!!!!! Of course not I said that is a huge amount of dies I wouldn't have enough space in my craft room for all of those dies. Well confession is good for the soul so fellow "Wilsonettes" I don't have as much as that lady but I do have 965 dies. I feel so much better now and I know you all will forgive me for my spellbinder obsession . Lol Lynne M x x x

Well Sue, you stunned me with that technique when I saw it on your show and shaving foam is now on my shopping list. The card is absolutely gorgeous and would make a lovely wedding card in white/silver or ivory/gold.
And I feel very good now, having only paltry 437 dies. Such a long way to go before I have to feel bad!!!!

I am so happy to watch you on the TV, I always ponder the same question... How do you create such unique cars? I think bringing back some of the previous dies with the new ones is fantastic to remind us to use the old ones. You should bring back YOUR dies next.

You are so right - in pearl or silver this would be a beautiful wedding card, but could be used for so many others too. This would make a lovely ruby wedding one. I loved this when I saw it on the tv on Monday and every time I've seen it again it grows on me even more! I was really chuffed when they showed my card on tv yesterday & it was so bizarre that at the same time you were demonstrating the Bella rosa card as well - must be psychic!!!!

Gorgeous gorgeous card I love it.The background is fabulous what a wonderful demo you gave on Monday you are a star. I got up early got breakie all sorted and comfy on the sofa switched on and hey ho Julia was on I thought oh I must have got the time confused doesn't take much these days to confuse me he he...:-) Anyways I had got Hubbie to record the show so I was just gonna leave it then Dean appeared oh how proffesional you both were. So proud to know you the samples are just fabulous you must have spent hours and hours making them all.
I was supposed to be sitting on my hand as I had bought a lot of new dies but my Dear Daughter has got me the stamps for labels 20 for Mother's day and I got the pretty background on you did on the blue card so cannot wait for them to arrive they look really detailed stamps so will make great cards.

What a beautiful card - though I am not sure about the background effect (I bet I'm the only one who hasn't loved it).The format is lovely and yes it would make a wonderful wedding/anniversary card in a different colour background - perhaps that would make my decision for me. 116. Hello Sue, Loved this on Monday and love it still, a truly beautiful card, the background is stunning. Will be buying some shaving foam at the weekend, if the crafters have left any, and giving this a try, it looks sooo much fun and the results are amazing. Loving the shows, the samples are gorgeous and glad to see some past favourites in there. Congratulations on yesterday's milestone, you soooo deserve it, your inspiration captivates us all.
    Have a great day everyone.

Hi sue I love this card and the shaving foam technique is great, I have a tin in my kitchen that I bought when you showed it the first time on c&c which is at least 2 years but might even be 3 years ago!!! Never got around to trying it then but will definitely be giving it a go today as I have more shimmer sprays now.i have to say I laughed out loud at Lynne m comment as I am the same and hide how much stash I have!!! I must count how many dies I have,it's nowhere near that amount though!! Love Lesley x

    Hi Sue
Thanks for putting this card on your blog I only just caught the end of the demo but have read through the tutorial on your blog. It's a stunning card and I definitely think that it would be great in silver for wedding cards and stationary, the distress stain in silver you used yesterday was beautiful.

I look forward to the rest of your demos today and tomorrow and thankfully the ipad app seems to be working again so I can see your shows again .

    Best wishes from Katie-Louise Sweetlove

  131. Hi Sue, this is an absolutely stunning card, which I can personally vouch for as I am sitting holding and admiring the original card!! Yes ladies I was the lucky girl who won Sue's gorgeous creation on Monday morning's C&C show and I couldn't be happier.

Sue this is truely a work or art and as such I am going to get it framed to put on my craftroom desk so that I can admire it everyday. I even sat hubby down to watch the show where you did the technique again and he ran into the bathroom to hide his shaving foam, lol. He was amazed at how you achieved this. When the card arrived (about 20 mins ago) we both sat admiring it and now hubby is off to buy me shaving foam!!

I am really enjoying your shows Sue and can't wait to see you at 2pm. I love the Heartfelt Creations Timeless Amour Die with 3Stamp Sets although it is hard to have a favourite.

    Hugs, Michelle E xx

So annoying when work gets in the way, you are not on our screens enough without having to miss you to work, though I suppose if I don't work I can not buy the fantastic dies etc... ho hum what a connundrum!!!!!

For and 8 x 8 card, you would need at least 8 x 16 inch card stock. Correct? If so I would love to know where you buy it so large. Hugs Lori
