Hi bloggers! Since we have been on girlie overload for the past few days, I thought I would show a rather unisex card for today. I do apologise, however, as it got a tiny bit damaged on the flight home from Florida last time so it has a bit of a wave to the sides. To begin the card, I picked a piece of rusty red card (tomato red) for my background. I used the Antique Labels One die from Justrite to cut an aperture in the centre of the card. Next I embossed the background with the Brick/Bark embossibility folder. I added a tan mat (which doesn't really show up in the photo well) and then a black background. I used a score board to put small horizontal lines in the background edges. I also used black Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue to do a row of dots on either side. I stamped the Friends labels One stamp in black on taupe card and embossed it with clear powder. I used the two smaller stamps and stamped them on to taupe card also. The top and bottom one match, but I changed the small sentiment on them. The centre one is a different stamp from the set, but I cut out all three with the matching die. I inked them with Antique linen while in the die.
I added 3D foam to the back of my embossed background for depth and dimension. I added the smaller stamped die cut to the centre and then the two matching stamped die cuts to the top and bottom of the card. I added a double mat of taupe card and just pierced the inner layer on the sides this time. While there probably isn't as much versatility in this type of card, it would probably work in some of those situations that are difficult to find just the right thing that isn't too frilly. Maybe you can offer up a few other ideas for occasions that it could be used for. Finished dimensions are 7" x 7 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

Not so 'frilly' this one, but those stamps make it. I think I'd use a lighter colour, as this red doesn't really appeal, but in the darker shades, it would be a great man card.
Yet more good ideas Sue, you never cease to amaze me at your inventiveness.
Where do you come up with these fab ideas Sue? xx
Could be a very useful card to have at hand for a short notice card, clean and simple and easy to adjust the greeting for those Ahhhhhh I need a card moments xx
Good morning. Sue,
You are on a black and red roll, I like those colors together. Lovely card. Cheers
Bore Da Sue, What a beautiful card Sue. You never cease to amaze me Sue what ever you do Sue. I love the colour combination. x. x. x
Hi Sue
This card is great really lovely. It is just what I need for inspiration today as I am going to use this embossing folder.
I have at last tracked down some aluminium tape as I found the big well known DIY shops did not sell it. When I did find it, it was in a rather large well known timber merchants, and I say this to help others, it was a large roll for £11.45 and I said that I couldn't afford that and he knocked the price down to £7 something to help me so it pays sometime to quibble it just shows how much the add on to things girls!! it is a huge roll will probably last me a long while but I do have a lot of male cards.

I do feel I want to mention Michelle it was not you I was having a go at it was the spammers that have hit Sue's blog over recent weeks and the message referred to had already been removed by Sue when you posted and I hope you get your help re your blog that is what we are here for to help each other.

Good morning Sue,
This is a great card for men, it is always so hard to think up new ideas for male cards. I love the red brick embossed wall effect and red and black is always a winner.
Thank you for your email Sue, I will be replying today but I just want to say for now thank you very much for your help and advice. I would also like to thank the lovely ladies who emailed me yesterday and also offered me advice, you know who you are. :-)
Heather I understand now what happened yesterday and that spam posts are being made to Sue's blog. Unfortunately I didn't see it so when your comment appeared under my post I thought you were referring to me. I hope I did not upset you or anyone else with my reply and if I did I am truly sorry.
((Hugs for now))

Very good all round card today, for male or female, valentine, anniversary, thank you, or birthday. This card would do it all. Love Linda. xxxx
Hi Sue, I think this card is brilliant, there are always some people that don't do frilly. Like the colours. Bx
Hi Sue,
Striking card today, not sure about the tomato red card (maybe dulling it down like a real old brick wall), great card though.

Hi Heather,
I've just seen your post, I must have been typing mine when you posted. Isn't awful how these spammers can cause such misunderstanding and upset to people? We're all here for each other and Sue is absolutely fabulous and such an inspiration and does not deserve to have things like this happen on her wonderful blog. At least we have been able to clear this horrible mess up.

Morning Sue, A truly unisex card today, can be embellied up for a girlie and 'cogged and twined' for a male, the stamps are beautiful.

Morning Sue,
Great ideas as always! I think the stamps are good generic option but guess you could adapt this to bring in any stamps that might be of specific interest to the individual as well.
Got my Sue Wilson stamping DVD in post yesterday and enjoyed every moment!! It's got loads of techniques and its fab having the ability to watch the demos whenever I'm trying them out myself. The step by step guide makes it simple and easy to follow so to all my fellow bloggers - you need this DVD from info on techniques to making different flowers and embellishments its just a jewel in your crafty stock cupboard.
You should be advertising this Sue, I didn't even know it existed & would definitely buy more if you decide to make another one!!!
Love & hugs

Morning Sue, great card as always..Sally

Hi Sue,
Another lovely card yet again - don't know how you do it but am so glad you do. The embossing really changes the look of it. Fab.

A card for the guys I think. Strong colours.
Morning Sue! You really keep us on our toes and your talent is just amazing! Not a single embellishment and it still looks fab! Haven't bought these yet, the budget still suffering from the Must Haves recently LOL but they're on my list. Would love to know more about your DVD??? Didn't know you had brought one out. Please tell! I would get it immediately despite the budget overload!!

Morning Sue,
Very smart man's card. Not the colour I would choose but ideal for this background. X
Nice card Sue....my only point is.that i am not a stamper and don't have outright stamps so would love more ideas.using inking and other.techniques with the dies.
Hi Sue, A great man's card loving the red and black. Where do you get your idea's from? You never cease to amaze us keep it coming.

Hi Sue Definately a man's card and simple to follow, I liked the matting background as well which could be used for various men cards. Take Care Love Michelle xxx
Good Morning Sue, I am a redhead so red is never a colour I wear in clothes, but I love the dramatic statement it makes in cards. This would make a great guys card and I love the brick/bark background.
Hugs Dawn xx
I really like it something a little different.
Jane xx
Hi Sue, great colours and layout for a man/teenager card. Can see this in lilac/ White for female relations. Will have to pinch this idea with your permission. Lol Lynne M
SPAM BLOGGERS - leave this blog alone!!!! It is for Sue and her "Wilsonettes"
morning Sue
Although not a format I would readily think of using I do like the colour scheme. I love the brick background and could see this format being used for teenagers going off to Uni, or passing exams with a different sentiment. How about anyone doing a building/bricklaying course at local colleges etc.
Janet x
A simple, no nonsence card. Just right for a man. I live the brick background, very masculine. A very nice card.
Hi Sue
Another different card. I do love those stamps. I do like black and red but it could be in any colour to suit the occasion
Audrey x
love that embossing folder Sue!! lainey x
Hi Sue. Great card. Love the red brickwork, and of course the black goes so well with it. I could use this, in various colour ways, for so many things, especially mens, but also great for "Well done" or "Congrats" for a change. I like something a bit different. Take care.
Hi,
I thought the card was great.
It made me think of Railways/The Underground and I suppose old shops, I think it is to do with the dies looking like old fashioned advertising on a brick wall.
good plainish cards are always good to have ready .I think I would make it in brown and creams not red,but I do like the design
Fabulous card. I love the brick wall embossing and could imagine how it would be so nice to use it on masculine cards (or B-day cards for boys). Great layout.
Hugs, Eemeli
Good guys card I don't have these stamps but could use similar.
A really great card for a male here Sue, you always knows what to pull out the closet, don´t you?
Have a great week-end now everyone.
Hi Sue,
A very useful card to have in my collection. It could be made in other colours. We don't always need frilly cards.
Thanks for all your inspiration.
Gail C x
Great Card, I too think the embossing folder is super not too uniform. Just needs a bit of Graffitti....SUE WILSON RULES!!! Etc.lolMabex
This is great, especially love the middle sentiment and the bricks
Morning Sue, Can't believe it is February already! Red, black and white is the theme for the new card swap group I belong to, (Crafty Card Swap) on Facebook this month so may have to adapt this one! I don't have those dies or stamps but could use the ones I have.

Hi Sue not sure on this one ,but good to see something differant.

Good morning Sue
Another fabulous card for men I love the brick embossing folder must try this one

This would be a great card for men. Changing the colours would greatly change the look to create a card for the ladies.
Morning Sue how odd I sent away for these stamps and the die yesterday.....after seeing then on one of your previous cards....now another idea to use ....haven't got the brick folder but thought the hounds tooth would look as good for a Man card! those pesky men......
when are you heading back home, hope Mum and you are having fun....crafty hugs Margaret
Hi Sue
I love this card so many uses especially for the men in our lives. The brick wall embossed background is great say some sporty stamps ie rugby, football, hockey etc and a sentiment and we can use it for men teenage boys and girls.

Not sure about the red but I think it would look great as a really grungy card. Def one for the men in my opinion. Pat x
Morning Sue,
A great guy card today. Such a masculine feel to it, the red brick walll would look great with motorbikes etc.

Morning Sue, I have just got the brick wall folder and it is great. Love this card, could be a man card, or just for someone who is not into flowers, and ribbons etc., (that rules me out thought) Have a great weekend.

Morning Sue, another great card what a great colour red this is, it's not one of these in your face reds! Is this a colour that you are bringing to C&C in the future? I love the background on this too, it's definate must have folder! I'll have to check if i have it and if not then i'll be ordering it! Hugs Sonia
Morning Sue ,
Another great male card which like others I seem to struggle with ,I too love the brick wall embossed background and was lucky to get the folders when they were on c&c . thanks for all your inspiration.
JeanD
Morning Sue,this is a great guys card and would work really well for teens as well with colour core and graffiti.
Hello Sue. I've been debating about these dies and stamps and just can't get excited about them. However, the idea for this card would work well with other apertures, so yet again, thanks for the inspiration. xx
Hi Sue
I don't think I have seen this brick wall folder before but it is certainly one which would be very useful
love from Jackie D
Not my type of card i think it's the die cuts i dont like but the layout is good will ues it with differant dies Jean Z xx

This isn't really my type of card, but I think the design does look good. Hugs! xx
Good Morning Sue,
Loving this red! Today's card screams 'MASCULINE' to me and I can see it serving for Father's Day with an image instead of the sentiment in the centre.
Have a fab weekend.

hi sue, nice to see that you will be on t v next week. carnt waite to see what you have got for us.glad what you brough went down well. we all have diffrent tastes.hope you enjoyed the c h a,love bluebell-flowerwood.

Hi Sue, This is a great card! I definitely need to get that embossing folder!..Love the colours..:)xxx
Hello Sue, that's a smart card. Thank you xxxxx
Morning Sue, Love the idea for this card and I have the brick wall folder. I kept looking at it, as I wasn't too sure about it. For me, although I like the colour combo normally, I think too much red brick was showing for me. It seemed to make it too dark and flat. Maybe a more distressed red piece of card would appeal to me.
Thanks for the inspiration. Hugs, Carol S.xx
Hi Sue
What a super card this is, I love the different textures and layers on this card and that it can be for both men and women. A great friend card.
Thank you for the inspiration you bring me.

Hello Sue,
This is amazing, I love the brick embossing folder. I'm still in awe with how great justrite stamps looked on your pretty cards, coinciding with Spellbinders dies....perfect! You always come up with the best ideas and inspiration, you're our queen of Spellbinders! Thanks for everything

Hello Sue, A great male card, love the brick embossing folder, don't think I have this one, will be looking after I post. The colours are fab,a change of colours and good for spots or DIY type cards for the handy men in our lives.
Thank you to Heather for the heads up about the aluminium.
Hope you and your Mum are having some qaulity time together.
Have a great day everyone.

Very masculine today which is always needed-any chance of cards for children Sue.I know i have a cheek to ask but you always seem to come up with something new and inspiring for us,take care,x.
Hi Sue
I have been reading my fellow bloggers comments and they all love this card, but I don't know why but it does not work for me
Maybe its the uniformity of it, or the Red - don't know
I do however love the brick background, I think maybe in shades of taupe it would work for me
Keep well and safe journey home, it has warmed up a bit here

Love your male cards as I find them so hard to design myself - yours give me lots of ideas, thank you xx
Hi Sue,
It's not a WOW for me, but a very good one for men.
Have a great weekend out there in sunny U.S.of A.
Ok for a man but not the usual Wow for me!! Much prefer your bows and flowers!!
Hi Sue,this card does not sing to me,I think the dies and stamps are too heavy. It can only be made if you are into stamping , and know how to stamp and emboss and I am only learning, and this stamp i do not have and am afraid it would be at the end of my list to buy, sorry Sue

Ita
mmmmmm very different for your usual style.....my offerings for something else would be perhaps a teenager IF it had different 'motifs' on it. would work for girls as well as boys depending on the decor on it.down with the kids sort of thing. ...
love these dies and the brick effect
This is a smple card from you , Sue. Still it's lovely.
Hi Sue
I am in two minds about todays card, although you know different things for different people.
I am sure all of the ladies and gents have thought of this idea, but if not i tried using a piece of card covered with some PVA glue with ordinary kitchen foil stuck to it wait for it to dry and embosse with any folder, i thought it worked quite well and was using things i already had, worth a try.
Best Wishes
Julie Bee
Hello Sue,
When I first looked at this card I thought football team, then I thought graffiti. This would make a great teenagers card with the name of the football team they support or their name on the brick background. This is one idea I will keep for my grandsons birthday.
Lovely card for the Boys.
Thank you Sue, Love Brenda Lel x

lovely card Lynda xx
What a striking card - I think a similar technique with maybe different folders and stamp sentiments could be used for a multitude of occasions. Thanks, Susan
This is very different, and I'm not too sure about the colour, but as a man's card it's a great idea.
Hi Sue, love the red & black combination, it would make a great male/teenager card, in different colours & nice & simple too! Hope you & all are okay Sue, take care, xx Love Karen xx

Hi Sue,
Great colours for a male card - which can sometimes be rather drab, at least they tend to be when I make them! I like the die and stamp shapes a lot. I also liked Corinne's idea of using the skateboard stamps against the brick background - I'm going to try that, thank you Corinne.
Have a great weekend,
Sue xx
Hi Sue.
I think this card could be adapted for a teenager. Some urban stamps maybe or graffiti stamps would be great on here. I bought some recently having seen them on c&c, Julia was on demoing them.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Ooh Sue you are a tease, or a bad influence, I haven't decided which yet, lol, I just have to keep saving pennies to keep buying and buying the Just Rite stamp sets, I managed 3 weeks ago to get my first 2 sets and the labels 20 to go with them and now I see some more I have to save for, lol, "Ooh, you are naughty but I like you" hahaha, you'll have to ask your other half where that 'phrase' comes from if he's around my age of 45 and up, he'll know, lol, hugs lovely lady!!!
