Best Wishes

Good Sunday morning!  I have a channel card for you today but done in a "V" shape this time.  I have never done a channel card in this way before and I just thought I would do a bit of experimenting with it.  I started with a piece of decorative paper that I found (it's from Websters Pages).  It had a nice mix of hexagon shapes all over it with a very vintage feel to it.  I decided to micro bead it so I placed a piece of self adhesive sticky paper over the top.  I cut my paper into the "V" shape that I wanted before micro beading it though.  Next I peeled the backing paper off each of the three sections and dipped them in my micro beads.  On each piece, I layered 3D foam pieces to create the height so my channels would have depth.  I decided to use a piece of pastel green for my background channels.  I placed each of my three panels over my background piece, leaving about a inch gap between them.   Using the swirl from the Venetian Motif set, I cut six of them in coconut white card.  I glued the edges of these swirls and placed them across my channels.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with a small Labels 28 die.  I inked it with a soft mix of broken China and Bundled Sage to get the same shade of green.  I cut one more labels 28 one size larger to use as a mat for my sentiment.  I layered them up using foam pieces and attached them to the centre section of my card.  I cut two corner pieces in white and glued them to the lower corners of my card.  I tied a messy bow out of turquoise seam binding, scrunched it and added it to the bottom of my card where my channels met.  I added a pretty heart Dazzler to the centre and pierced the edges to complete my card.  Do I get a "V" for victory or...
Finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" in size.

  6. Really unusual card today, Sue, def a 'V' from me. The pastel green picked up from the hexagon paper is lovely - could choose any of the colours and theme it from there. Would do it grungy with greys I think.

    morning Sue
I have not got into the flow of channel cards but today's has given me the inspiration. I shall certainly be trying this one out. I seem to be microbeading everything at the moment so this will fit in just fine.
I love the colour scheme. I have the Ven.dies and love them to bits as they are so dainty and beautiful to use even though they are difficult sometimes to get out of the die.
    Congrats to all winners.

  24. Good Sunday Morning Sue!

I really like this card it is refreshingly different. I thought as I have the hexagonal dies I would try and make my own backing paper and then photocopy it onto glossy paper for future use. I like messing around with things like that. I think it will take some time but I really love the backing you have used. Of course everything else about this card is Fab-u-lous!!

  141. I love that design paper Sue - you must have those beads by the bucket full to put them all over your projects...

I love the shape you put in the centre of the card and the die cut you used with it....

    Gorgeous...

  153. Hi Sue, What a fantastic card. So unusual with the channels going through. It almost reminds me of the card on top floating on a pond. Lovely.
