You Are The Best and Blog Candy

 Hello my crafty friends!  I am headed back across the pond today for a visit.  I'll be spending a few days at CHA in California and a week with my daughter while I'm there before heading to Florida to see my Mom again for a while.   I'll be sure to schedule the daily morning blog post for you so don't worry.  I am hoping to be able to post some pictures from the trade show next week too!  Today's card is from the lovely Violette Vintage Label collection from JustRite.  I used the Lace background stamp and white embossed it on some lavender card.  I fussy cut (as in by hand) around the stamp and attached it to some deep purple card.  I stamped the Violette stamp in black and cut it out with the matching die shape.  I used Milled Lavender around the edge while it was still in the die, then coloured the flowers and leaves with the Ranger markers in Dusty Concord and Forest Moss (the flowers photographed rather blue for some reason, but they are purple). I stamped it again, but this time, just cut out the centre of the label, coloured it and mounted it on foam above the original.  On a larger piece of white card, I stamped the delicate frame from the Grand Sentiments set in black in the corner.  I stamped the sentiment inside the frame.  I added a few flatback pearls to the swirlie areas to dress it up.  I used some satin ribbon to tie a double bow, added a Dazzler and stick pins and then added it to the side of the card between my focal element and my sentiment.  I pierced the edges to bring it all together.  Yes, it's definitely a girlie one today!  Finished Dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size.

    GM Sue - this label shape reminds of something - I am thinking a wine bottle label perhaps? Love the lilac with the white and black - divine colour combo.     Beautiful Sue!Lilac and white always remind me of palma violet sweets a nice memory from childhood. This card is very pretty indeed.

    Have a good flight Sue bring us news as to what is at the CHA and have a lovely time with the family - the weather has picked up again now so you should be fine! LOL! Typical! Still I did have a good time with my family despite the weather.

    I LOVE IT. The colours, lace stamped border in white that looks like a doiley, the bow, dazzler, pin and little pearls really set this card off. I love how you have used the Violette Vintage Label collection and the milled lavender really makes your focal point stand out.

    You really are an asset Spellbinders should treasure as you do a fantastic job with all the dies you make samples from.

    Hope you have a wonderful time with your daughter and your mum - family are so precious and it's lovely that you are able to build quality time with them alongside your work commitments. I think this is a beautiful card, great colour combo and the lace background is just glorious but I am not a fan if this die shape - no idea why but just doesn't appeal to me at all but knowing you Sue you'll end up doing something genius with it that changes my mind at done point!

    Have decided stamping not for me, must just stick to the dies, can't justify the expense - but maybe one day will get a set for labels twenty.

    Hi Sue,
    Oh such a pretty card! I had just decided I didn't need this set of dies.....I thought, I can improvise....use another set.....make do, and then you come up with this! Lol. I have already used my Birthday (March) and next Christmas allowances, so what to do? At this rate I will be in debt to Birthdays for the next 10 years! Ah well, I don't smoke or drink, my main vice these days is Spellbinders and Justrite.....it could be worse.
