Vintage Plane

Morning all!  As many of you have requested, another card for the guys today.  I found this fun patterned kraft card while I was in Florida last time and I really liked it.  So out it came for my plane card.  I decided to cover it with micro beads to soften the pattern a bit first off.  I then cut a smaller panel for the centre of the card using a small patterned kraft card.  I used my scissor edge to distress it and then a light dusting of black soot around the edges.  I wrapped some black jute twine around the panel and tied a bow.  I used one of the tiny Tim Holtz gears for the centre of the bow (aren't they cute!)  Next I stamped my vintage plane stamp from the Going Places set by JustRite on kraft card. I cut it out with the matching Antique Label and Banner dies and inked the edges with tea dye distress ink to age it. Then I used a white pencil to add a bit of highlight to the image, especially in the background.  I cut a larger black mat for the image and layered them up in the middle of the card.  I stamped my sentiment on kraft card and cut it out with the banner tag in the set.  I cut off the ends of the banner and rounded them slightly.  Then I cut an additional banner, nipped it in half and added underneath so it looks like the banner has been folded back on itself.  I used Cosmic Shimmer black PVA dots around the edge to finish it off.  I'm sure this would work for so many of the men in our lives, don't you?  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.
