Holiday Tree

Happy Sunday morning!  It has been awhile since my last Christmas card so here is one that is very simple and elegant.  It is so simple that it probably doesn't even need an explanation (but I will!)  I embossed a piece of my soft gold card using the Holiday Magic embossibility folder.  I cut it in half once embossed and added it to the sides of my card with a black mat below it.  I added a centre panel that consisted of a black mat, then a taupe panel strip.  I cut the Holiday Tree 2012 out of soft gold card using some wax paper so it was easily removed from the die.  I added 5mm black pearls to areas of the tree as accents.  Then I cut two of the borders from the Frosty Forms set out of  black card.  I added the swirly borders cut in black above and below my tree.  I pierced the edges of the mat to complete my card.  See how simple that was.  If you need a special card for a friend and not much time to spare to make it, this is the one for you.  Easily finished in record time!
It's Sunday so time for the comment game winners and since we had a post with over 200 comments this week, there are two sets of winners!  This week's winners are:
                                                       Wendy Hewings!!!

  58. Good morning Sue
The holiday magic embossing folder and this christmas tree die are my favourites I use them all the time, I am still waiting to get the soft gold card it is so stunning. To answer Higgisue's question I have made cards using this tree and it fits perfectly onto the front of an A6 card. With all Sue's cards you can make them but you have to adapt i.e. use narrower ribbon, smaller embellishments or even leave them out. There are some cards you can't do because you need extra space but sometimes you can even use a smaller die than Sue has used like the bauble die, hope this helps.

for me it needed something else to make it perfect. Your card has done it's work, it's beautiful - and inspiring!

  123. This card is just beautiful & so simple Sue! I LOVE it!!! Going to have to say its got to be a favourite :-). Things have not settled down since my sons operation last Monday as he keeps me up all night because he's in pain. I'm hoping things go back to normal soon. I feel like a referee spliting him & my daughter up as he's really quite aggressive since the op. That needs to stop ASAP! My birthday card I made Friday went down well today. My friend loved it! It's the second card I've managed this week. I've had so little time & am sleep deprived... Off to my parents house shortly as we are staying over night & my Mums looking after them tomorrow. I really hope they'll be good for her. I'm on a training day for my business at a stately manor towards London. I feel guilty going, but I could do with some time away at the moment even if it is business! I know it will be an amazing day & should recharge my batteries. Claire xxx

  158. Unquestionably imagine that which you said. Your favorite justification
appeared to be on the web the easiest thing to bear in mind of.
I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while other folks consider issues that they
just do not recognize about. You managed to hit the nail upon
the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects ,
other people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more.
    Thank you

  159. Hey there, my name's Jefferson and I sometimes blog about this subject too. Actually, if I may, let me ask you something.. Could it just be me or does it look like a bunch of the responses seem like they are coming from brain dead individuals? :-P Also, if you're
on any other social network sites such as web 2.0 site list, I'd like to keep in contact. Would you put up a list of every one of your shared sites like your Twitter, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

  160. Thank you so much for this. I'm a writer from lsen, Germany and what I just read here on blogger.com could not be written any better. Reading through this information reminds me of my first roomie, Antonia. He incessantly kept preaching about this. I will definitely send these ideas to him. Pretty sure he will have a very good read. I appreciate you for revealing this.

  161. Having looked at this I found it to be rather insightful.

. I take joy in you setting aside the time and energy to
put this stuff up. I repeatedly find myself spending a
significant amount of time simultaneously reading and/or commenting.
Oh well, it was still worth the while.
