It's A Grand Card

Hi guys!  A card made with the Grand Decorative Ovals today.  I was instantly smitten with these when I saw them.  Since the largest die in this set is 7" x 9" in size I thought it would be lovely to use it for a shaped card sample.  I picked out some decorative paper from October Afternoon to use.  I cut each of the sizes, using the next size down inside it to create a frame.  Once cut, I matted my decorative papers behind each of the three frames.  I taped them all together using the same point on the left so they appear to be spaced.  I stamped my sentiment on milk card in black and embossed it in clear.  I then taped the Asian motif die over it and used Barn Door distress ink to highlight it.  I then lifted the die up and placed a piece of sticky paper under the die and taped it back in place.  I cut the die and then peeled back the backing paper and poured micro beads over it.  I attached my focal piece with mounting foam.  I added a messy bow tied from Lipstick red American seam binding and covered a button with matching paper for the centre of my bow.  I added some pearl swirls across the card as an accent to finish it off.  It's a bit different, but I thought it was quite fun when it was finished!  All for now, Sue x

  9. Morning Sue, I love this card and this is what prompted me to go for the grand oval and circle dies from the show. I have used them already but to make a couple of rocker card bases! They look great too with a decirative edge rather than a boring old plain one. I will be trying this card later it's brilliant. Sonia x
