Morning all! I can barely look at this card without remembering the hours and hours I spent looking for my Venetian Motif die that went missing after the first use! You see, I had wanted to use it twice on this card, but it decided to play hide and seek with me so I ended up changing the game plan and actually really liking how it came out. It turns out the die, which still had a bit of sticky tape on it (I get them sent to me attached to a piece of copy paper with the stickiest tape ever!) was stuck between two rolls of seam binding that were on my desk at the time! It only took me three times sorting through my waste bin because I was certain I had thrown it away by accident. So this card was a sort of happy accident as it turned out. I started with a piece of background paper I had (I'd cut it for something else then changed my mind). I cut two of the Asian borders and glued them facing each other on the side of my card. I ran a piece of sky blue seam binding down the centre and added a messy bow to the bottom. I decided to cut one of the smaller dies from the Venetian Motifs for the centre of my bow, kinda cute isn't it! I added a flatback pearl to the centre and two stick pins. Now for the focal element. I started with a large labels 28 in pale blue and a Venetian Motif in milk. I cut the motif in half and glued it to the top and bottom of the labels 28, clipping the curly edges over. next I cut an Asian Motif in milk card. It was far too big so I performed a bit of surgery on it and brought the size down. I nipped each one of the corners off at the second scallop. Next I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with Labels 27 turned to an "X" shape. I then glued my Asian bits to each of the corners so they were peeking out from behind my sentiment. I added a flatback pearl to the centres of each of the pieces. I also inked my sentiment with weathered wood distress ink while it was in the die and used a bit of mounting foam to raise it up. I finished the card with a few pearls in the two right hand corners and pierced the edges. I was really pleased with it when it was all said and done although I didn't end up finding that die until late the next day! All for now, Sue x

This is a stunning card, Sue. Blue and white always looks so fresh and clean and the dies are beautifu. Again one of my favourite bows. Love the whole concept, this turned out to me a crafters "Happy accident"
Good Morning Sue,
Yet another stunning card, love everything about it, colour is so gentle. The combination of dies is fantastic.
Know what you mean about the sticky on the dies. They use that tape to attach them to the packaging when we get the dies. What a job trying to get them off.
Have a Great Day
Patricia
Wow Sue this card is simply stunning, what a happy accident, if only all accidents could have such a happy ending. He! He!
Hi sue wow this is the best creation ever
Love the colors and the texture
I say things happen for a reason
Thanks Jayne
Good morning.
This is a beautiful, harmonious card. Love the baby blue color. And these dies go perfectly together.
I also have trouble getting the dies off the card board, they come in. They are glued so firmly on the card board, that I'm afraid, I'll brake them..
Hi Sue,
really fabulous card. Love the colour and everything about it. Don't you just hate it when something goes missing. I remember cutting out quite a few of one die pieces for a design on a card. When I came to put them together I was one missing. I hunted high and low to no avail. I found it the next day stuck to the bottom of my slipper. Have a great crafty day everyone.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Hi Sue, what a happy accident, turning out a wonderful card. I know the feeling of loosing a die, with me it was one of the teeny ones, it was stuck to a stamp I had used, but I had an age trying to track it down. Love the blue theme and the bow is a beaut.

Bore Da Sue. What a fantastic card.I love everything about it.Sue you are simply the best.
Stunning card, love the dies you use and fab colour combo and all details. Hugs, Moni
How fabulous is this card? Just love it. Such clever usage of the dies.XX
How frustrating to lose that die when you really wanted it - but the card turned out beautifully, and you can always use the idea again, but with the second Venetian die.
Morning Sue, once again a stunning card..I love the colours and the beautiful dies.
Have a great day.

ps I was actually going to ask if you could get Spellbinders to change the sticky tape they use on the dies in the packaging as I find it very challenging to remove.

This is stunning hugs Ginny
GM Sue - lovely card - very wedgewoodesque. Focal element is fantastic.
I have a tip to share for those ladies strugling with removing the dies from their packaging. Dont remove the die from the cardboard, remove the cardboard from the die! I do this by placing the dies face down - BUT PROTECT YOUR TABLE WITH A MAT OR SUCKLIKE OR YOU COULD MARK IT! gently peel back the cardboard from the dies with one hand, whilst with your other hand, ensuring the dies keep flat and in contact with the table so they dont warp as you peel the cardboard away from them. Hope this helps someone.

Good morning Sue
What a beautiful 'happy accident' I wish mine would turn out like yours. I lost a very small die yesterday and spent hours looking for it but couldn't find it anywhere. When I got up this morning I went to put the cleaner over and I thought 'I wonder' and looked in the cleaner bag and there it was. It was as if I had won the lottery lol. I successfully made a rose yesterday and can't stop making them thanks for the inspiration.
Hugs x
Such a beautiful card. I love everything about it. I think the sentiment is so timely too. I have been off work for 3 months with stress and start back today with a new philosophy. Your words ring so true. Thankyou. Over the last few months you have been a source of inspiration.

Oh Sue this is such a pretty card & I love the colours. My venetian dies came yesterday & I have cut out the borders & they are really pretty I'm so pleased with them but I haven't started to play with them yet.
So pleased you found your die, the same thing happened to me & after searching my waste bin twice & spending about 2 hours searching everywhere, I found it stuck to a roll of double sided

Hi Sue
Beautiful card
I lost one of my dies once, there were 2 on the plate, not stuck down, and only one when I got it out of the Calibur!!! I searched high and low in my craft room, even had the magnetic ruler under the cupboards but it couldnt be found anywhere. I found it a few weeks later it had fallen into the calibur somehow but didnt affect the way it worked!!! It was a small corner die

Love this card.Love the colours. I wish my cards looked as good as yours Sue.
I finally sorted out all my dies putting them on magnetic sheets, so much easier now to find what I'm looking for, didn't realise I had so many. I have used the packaging off the dies to stick on to the back of the magnetic sheets, I now know what I have.
Wow what lovely card. Happy accident or not it is lovely.

Hi Sue,This is a STUNNING card!!..Love the colours and the dies..Just beautiful..:)..xx
Hi Sue
I saw you demonstrate this on the recent shows and loved it then too. I have to say I did something similar with a die not so long ago - I spent 2 hours looking for it (like you going through the wastepaper bin) & ended up blaming my husband (as you do!). It turned out that I have been very efficient and stuck it onto my magnetic sheets - only the wrong one!! Needless to say my husband thought this was hilarious.
This card is amazing Sue, love it so much. Linda xxx
Beautiful colour palette!
wow what a classy card love it and the colours are so stunning .. love it !! hugs sarah .x

Hello Sue,

Good morning Sue,
Beautiful blues, as good as seeing blue sky here in the Dales.
Hope tomorrows card is as beautiful to cheer me on as I have my sixtyfortythreetytwoty birthday...not telling which of the numbers are right!!

Sue, This has got to be one of the most beautiful cards I've ever seen! The colours, layering and embellishments create such a perfect design. Yet again you've shown that, just because a die is the 'wrong' size/shape for a project, with a little judicious pruning you can create something entirely new! So glad you didn't throw out your precious die by mistake. BTW, how do you make your messy bows?
Sue
Oh my goodness - what a panic you must have been in. I too have a prodigal die which is one of the fancy ovals. However, this is a simply lovely card and is going to be my inspiration for today. Thank you. xx
Morning Sue,
Wow what a super card - i have really missed your blog whilst i have been away and am really looking forward to catching up on all your creativity.

Sue, your cards are just getting prettier and prettier. I want to try them all out for myself!
A really beautiful card, love everything about it, from colour to the layout
HI Sue,
Like Patricia, I have problems with that tape!, I know what it's like when you can't find a die, and even though you know at the back of your mind you haven't thrown it out, you just have to keep looking in the bin. I've misplaced one of my dies, although I'm convinced it's rolled off my tabe and gone under the tv stand in the corner (which i can't get to very easily) I still search the bin everytime i go to empty it, Lynn xx
One of my very favourite cards Sue,
just stunning

Hi Sue
This card is absolutly stunning.
Beautiful restfull colours.

Hi Sue,
What a happy accidente - such a beautiful card - I love the sentiment too.
Glad your Venetian motif turned up - I'm always surprised at how far dies can travel. a little one that pings off just as I'm opening the sandwich will never be on the floor where I'm working, always under a chair on the other side of the room!

O.M.G. Sue this card is stunning, the dies are super, and I locve that milk card you use,I spent yerstday looking for a packet of my dies,I knew they had to in my sort of craft room, after hours I found them under another lot of dies ,so got nothing done for the afternoon it was so frustrating.

Hi Sue another gorgeous card! Love all your ideas and am an avid follower of your blog and record all your shows for inspiration. I have a challenge for you- do you have any ideas of how to make a rocker card with spellbinders? I'd love to make some for my grand children this Christmas but don't know how. Thanks for all your hints, tips and inspiration Sue. Alice x
Absolutely awesome! I just love how your happy accident turn out it looks so elegant and loving the paper and design.

Oh wow, this card takes my breath away! Extremely stunning!!!
Well, even without finding the die you made a wonderful card :)
I am so afraid of throwing something 'precious' away that I turn the lid of my large waste bin upside down and use that as a catch-all until I've tidied up and put everything away. That way, I only have a shallow container to rummage through rather than the whole bin!
OH WHAT A HAPPY ACCIDENT - That is a super card Sue - glad you found your die

Hi Sue

another beautiful card Sue. love the colour combination, fresh and delicate. great bow too. xx carole
Hi Sue, love everything about this card, especially the colours.x
Hi Sue, watched you make this on the show, I love that you spent ages looking for a die that was sat there all along, I do that all the time even though all of my dies are on magnetic, can you have a word with Spellbinders about that hideous tape they use, surely there must be a better option like those silicon blobs that magazine publishers use.
I love this card, I have all the dies so can replicate this one easily, without having to substitute anything, oh what joy!
I have a task for you, can you get Spellbinders to do a 'houndstooth' set of dies and particularly a full die like the lattice one you showcased so well last week. That would fly out the warehouse quicker than you could say "Spellbound"!

I'm always losing things when I'm crafting and spend ages looking for them - they just seem to disappear off my work surface!!!!! It's so annoying.
The card is beautiful anyway Sue even if it's not what you started out to do.
Super duper stunning - I love it. Sorry been a little quiet with the comments, not been so good, but I have been looking. I can imagine how frustrating it must have been losing your dies, I often misplace things only to find them, right there, in front of me! lol Take care Zo xx
Such a beautiful card! I'm so glad you were able to find the die. I seem to misplace items quite a bit while I'm crafting, so I know how frustrating it is to have to stop and look for what you need, especially since you know you just used it a few moments ago.
Oh, Sue. Words fail me,lol Stunning card. This is one of your best.I just love the colour combination. Hugs.3362Jan
Absolutely gorgeous - happy accidents are good! xx
Sometimes accidents are meant to happen. A beautiful card, scrumtious, and so pleased you found your die in the end. I have been known to don the rubber gloves and scour the dustbin then find them like you in amongst some paper....
A beautiful card Sue and a sentiment that's oh so true - the idealist in me says 'the spirit is willing, get up and make it happen' but the flesh, alas, is unfortunately sometimes weak.

Wow it is stunning, love the colours too. My mum lost one of her dies a while ago, it turned up in a bag of cut off and waste paper she had donated to a local nursery school! Fortunately the lady who takes the cut offs to the school had checked the bag out first of all and found the missing die! Debra
I sympathise with you about the dies that go missing Sue! They seem to have wanderlust. I have mislaid a die on different occasions - one turned up weeks later stuck to back of another packet and the other one had accidentally fallen into the drawer next to the one it should have been in. Great feeling to find them again. Oh - mustn't forget to say what another great card you have made for us. Well done.
Hi Sue
This is all my all time fav cards of yours
