Peaceful Wishes

Good Sunday morning!  I hope everyone has had a lovely, relaxing and crafty weekend.  I know I have!  I've gotten a bunch of new cards done, but I'm not allowed to show them yet, sorry, but at least I have stuff for the daily blog posts in the future!  For now, I still have loads of Christmas cards to, hopefully, get you in the mood to start on them early (like we know we should be doing!)  Todays card uses the Christmas Bauble from a few years ago, still a lovely shape though.  I cut an aperture with it in red card.  I had some fun newprint kraft card that I used behind it.  I went down a few sizes and cut the bauble out of plain kraft card.  I added one of the snowflakes to the centre before I embossed it.  I used a bit of Antique Linen while it was still in the die to bring out the snowflake details.  I stamped the sentiment on milk card and embossed it in gold.  Using the gold silky crush ribbon for my bow, but I cut it down the centre to use it for a strip across the card.   You can see a close up  below of the bow using the cut strips of the ribbon too.I cut all the pieces for the poinsettia in milk card and inked it with Antique Linen.  I formed the leaves and glued the pieces together.  I accented the bauble with it in the upper corner.  I added some pearl swirls and used the Cosmic Shimmer pearl PVA glue dots around the edge of the card.
And now for the Sunday morning Comment game winners.  They are:

Astipink!!!
Emily H!!!
Rose in Chester!!!

Congratulations! Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com  to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue

Love the card, and although I haven't got this die, I can see it working with alternatives and different colour combinations. I do know of others who copy your ideas faithfully, and of course your job is to help sell the dies. However most people are having to show some restraint, and I feel sometimes that people fail to see that your designs encourage the mind to fly and enable one to use items out of the stash.

  132. Hi Sue,
This is a definite winner with me. I adore the rustic feel of this, it reminds me of the brown paper packages, as the song says:- 'tied up with string' that I used to do for my children at christmas. We used to buy rolls of brown paper and use red ink and stamp little images and text all over it to make our own wrapping paper. We loved it and I must admit I still do. It seems to create an ambience that is reminiscent of Little Women with fond memories of a crackling fire and songs around the piano. Oh boy, am I getting old or just sentimental....LOL!! Love it.
Hope you have a good week. Linda x
