Hello everyone! An easy black and white card for today. I love the way that detailed dies look when simply embossed into plain card. I had to have a go at it with the Vintage Lace collection. First off, I stamped my sentiment in the lower corner of the card. I placed the two largest dies in the Vintage Lace set across the card and taped them into place and cut apertures. I set the largest die cut aside for another card and used the smaller one in the larger opening. I cut one more of that size to layer them up for a more lacy look. I cut three of the smallest round shape in the set, two to be used in the smaller opening on the card and the other one to layer up in the centre of the larger opening. I added a couple of flatback pearls to the centres for accents. I used the dies again to simply emboss the card this time. I taped the largest one in place over the sentiment. I used the other two in the top area on the card. Before embossing, I did place a piece of copy paper over my card before taping my dies in place, though as this helps to keep the dies from cutting through the card in places. Once the top was finished, I mounted it over a piece of black and white decorative card. I added a black mat that I pierced and one thin mat of white for contrast before my final black mat. Sorry no place for a bow on this one, but still a fun card to make. Hope you like it. All for now, Sue x

Well Sue another different card and how lovely to see that embossing. Too often we forget that these dies are so versatile. Thanks for reminding us.x
Morning Sue, very effective card and would work in many colour combinations and for those who like less of a bling effect great!
Woe The designer of these does must be so proud. They are beautiful. You can't find them yet in the US but they are back on create and craft so I ordered the accents for a second time. Love these. You are the best.
Hi Sue,
lovely card. Great idea we tend to forget to just emboss with the dies, well I know I do. Just love the black and white combo too. Have a great crafty Saturday everyone.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

More elegance and what a lovek sentiment.
Soooooo beautiful and so elegant is this black and white card here, and it´s just sooo elegant, but still so easy to change the colors depending what it´s used for. Wonderful result as always Sue.

Good Morning Sue,

Morning Sue, another lovely card - black and white goes so well, very classical, but so adaptable toother colours anddies. I love the lacy look.
Good morning Sue this is a very elegant card and thanks for the tip about placing a sheet of copy paper over the card first before embossing.
Hugs x
Lovely classic style Sue. The simplicity of it really shows the detail in these lovely dies. Pat x
Hi Sue, this is such a good way of showing different techniques. The aperture can be used in many ways, I for one always forget that the remaining card after a cut also has a use. So far I have not been lucky embossing with the dies, I shall try your copy paper technique. In fact I am going to make this card my apprentice piece and keep practicing till I get it right. Best wishes Lesley x
Good morning Sue, i love this card aas you say a simple card but truely striking in the black and white. I must admit to forgetting about just embossing but must remember as it makes a lovely background xx Gail
Morning, What a wonderfully dramatic card for a Saturday. I love monocromatic cards but - black and white is up there as my favourite.

I can't wait for these dies to arrive from the US so I can get them! The card is beautiful Sue
You cannot beat black and white, this combination and your skill for designing, makes a truly stunning card.
Good Morning Sue,
You have done it again!!! wow! what a super card. I always forget about just using the dies to emboss on a card they give a great effect.
Great design could be used with loads of different coloured backgrounds.
Have a great weekend

Very pretty card, love the effect of the embossing xx
LOL Sue, as soon as I looked at this card I could see one of your 'signature' pieces was missing...the bow! But you are right, no room on this one and it really is another stunner, which certainly doesn't look like it was an easy make! Carole Z X
More embossing......are you trying to remind ME about doing this LOL. I keep forgettiing you can do that...so thankyou for another lovely reminder.
Howdy Sue,Yes another great card I need to be having a full day to craft to try to get a batch of your"easy" cards done....even one would make me do "the happy dance". Thanks as always
Mabex
Hi Sue,
Your new dies make this technique look complicated even though you call it one of your simple cards. I think it would have been spoiled by adding a bow, it's just right as it is.
love from Jackie D
Beautiful lace dies Sue Like the card and am buzzing with ideas Its lovely XXX
Morning Sue....oh how I love your dies and do you know what me thinking outside the box used them on some patterned absorbent paper to make some coasters for my tea cups...really posh and colour coordinated!!!! love the card! take care Margaret
another stunner Sue-I love the fact that the dies can be used for embossing on ther own to make stunning backgrounds, take care, Kimx
Another striking card Sue , black and white always looks special to me, yes even without the bow .

morning Sue from a dull morning in Burgundy
I love this card so simple but so effective. I never thing of using the dies to cut into backgrounds must remember to do so.
Janet x
Good Morning Sue. I just love the simplicity of this card. I have the dies and the word stamps. Sadly the cards I make with them don't match up to yours but this is one i can copy today. Oh to have your talent. My thoughts are with all the people in the UK that have problems with flooding.
This one I really love!
Hi Sue,
Lovely card. Black and white so useful for many occasions.take the pearl away and replace with a brad, you have a good design for a ' mans' card that is clean and elegant. So useful. My mind is buzzing with ideas. Brilliant. X
Just found your site. Cards are lovely and I am looking forward to seeing many more.
The black/white combo really makes the details stand out. I like the embossed on the background, too. A bow on this one would have been too much, I think, as much as I love your bows.
Sue no trade mark bow...you're slipping.LOL
Something different. Nice but prefer your usual style. Erica x
Classy and elegant, love the monochrome look!
Fab card, dies are great, and fab colour combo. HUgs,moni

Morning Sue,
What a great card, elegant, sophisticated, understated and beautiful. Must try this technique of embossing.

Hi Sue, now this is a lovely example of how you call easy or simple designs that look beautiful and as if considerable design work went into its production. This is a lovely card and I actually have the supplies to emulate this card so I might just do that over the weekend.
I hope you have a lovely weekend

Hi Sue, I like this card very much. Still waiting for the Vintage Accents so can't try it just yet. I wonder how it would work with the Moroccan or Ironworks dies? I have a special 60th birthday card to make so will be spending some time today going through my 'loved' pictures of your cards and hopefully get some inspiration from them.
Hope your week-end is dry and bright.

Good Morning Sue,
What no bow or bling!!! but still a lovely elegant card. Sometime the recipiant prefers a card without any "frills" and this would be perfect for them. LOL Ann
This is definitely a Zoe Card! Lol while I adore pretty and elegant things I'm not an overly girlie-girl, so sometimes I like the intricate designs without all the bling and bows. Superb as ever, Sue. Zo xx
Hi Sue - yet another lovely card - very elegant!

Beautiful card Sue. I love black and white it always looks so elegant.
Hi Sue.
What a lovely card! Unfortunately I do not like black on a card but it would look good in another colour. I also do not have the die but do have others that would do just as well Will get the die when it is on general release as I will not buy from C&C anymore.
Have a great day.
Evis.
Hi Sue I think elegant is the word to describe this card.It could be done in any colourway which is useful. Also although bling and bows are great you do need cards without as well.Just wonderful.

Sue B
Lovely, lovely, lovely. Extremely delicate and very feminine. Just right to send to a really close girl friend
Another winner with me! How do you do it Sue?
Hi Sue,
I really don't know how you keep up with the demand for cards - both for to show on your blog and for shows, etc. I just make cards for close friends and family occasions and I find even that is a challenge, it's so hard to find the time. I think I heard you say once that you try to make 3 cards per day! I can't manage 3 in a week! So here I am wishing I had a job like yours! Keep up the good work.
Joan B.
These dies are really lovely Sue, you can see the detail really well. Liz S.x
Hi Sue, spent the day with grandchildren so now relaxing looking at your gorgeous card, your dies really are beautiful. Needed to be reminded the dies can be used just for embossing so thank you for that. Easy you say, maybe but it would still take me ages to complete LOL! Hugs Christine H xx
I saw this on C7C last week and it inspired me to do some cards where I cut out of the card then use the middle as you have done. I love it x
Looking lovely Sue
Hi Sue, another sensational card, and just what I needed for an idea I was already working on, so thank you for your great inspiration as usual.
