Ahoy Mateys! Kind of corny, but since I will be aboard the ship on the Create and Craft Cruise when this post goes live, I thought, why not! And a nautical themed card to boot! I promise I won't break into song, but I am humming anchors aweigh! This card was made with the Samantha Walker Nautical Frames and Accents set. I cut two of the swirly borders, one from navy blue and one from a lighter blue card. I kept the negative piece from the lighter blue and used it on the bottom edge of the card as it looks so much like waves. I then layered the navy blue border and topped it with the remaining lighter blue to create my "sea." I stamped my sentiment on light blue card (great sentiment, huh?). I cut the sandcastle tag out of red card. I used the die shape to make a faux nestie for my tag out of navy blue. I took the centre of the tag out with my scissors and layered it up with my tag, sentiment and faux nestie. I cut several of the forked flag out of light and dark blue and red. I used a white gel pen to create faux stitching lines on the edges and then attached them from the edge of my tag extending outward. I cut a couple of stars from the Home Sweet Home set from Nina Brackett. I added faux stitching lines around them and attached them to the corner of the card with mounting foam. I wrapped the card with red Bakers Twine several times and tied it through a button. I finished it off with some faux stitching in black around the edge. Bring on the summer! All for now, Sue x
