Kraft Card Cut Outs

Hi guys!  Still feeling under the weather, but did manage to get out of bed today, even answered a few emails, but not caught up on them all yet. Thank you for all your well wishes, they mean so much.   I know that you would understand if I missed a blog post, but I have to blog, it is so much a part of me now.  I am putting off the comment game drawings until I feel better as that does require more energy than I can muster at the moment.  I hope you will understand.  The good news is that there will be loads of winners when it happens!  For today's card, I started with kraft card and cut all the aster flower toppers out of it in a random pattern.  I repeated the smaller one.  I stamped my sentiment in the lower corner and wrapped some Bakers Twine around the card above my sentiment and tied it through a button.  I used a white gel pen to make faux stitching lines around the edge and all the flowers.  I cut out matching flowers out of black and took off the inside petals on all of them.  I used a black and white decorative paper to put behind the kraft card and show through my aster flower openings.  I placed the black flowers over the matching flower cut outs and added a fancy button in the centre of each of them.  I pierced the edge to complete the card.

The last of the cruise pics as I didn't take too many, but Nigel and Leonie and the rest of the C & C crew were enjoying the final night dancing and having a good time.

The final pic as we disembarked on Tuesday morning after a late night!  All for now, Sue x

  118. Hi Sue, I hope you are feeling better very soon. Thanks for putting this on your blog, it has to be one of my favourites. I love those colours. I tried it myself this week. It was my parents diamond wedding anniversary on Thursday and I had 3 cards to make. One for mum from dad, one for dad from mum and one for them from me. Such a dilemma making 3 different cards for the same people. Needless to say I looked to your blog for inspiration and recordings I made of your C&C shows. I was very pleased with the results.

  139. Hi Sue, nice to hear you're a little bit better but still try & rest. We don't want it coming back with a vengance! You're a real trooper in trying not to let anyone down. Also when you've been doing things for a while it does tend to get to be a habit! Love the card Sue, it's stunning! You take care now & enjoy the rest of Mothers day with your mum. Take care Sue, love Karen xx

  156. I'm so glad that today finds you a little better, but you still need to take it easy and rest up. I'm sure we can all wait. I loved this card on c &c and have got two days off now so I can play in my craft room, well I have three but I need one to tidy and reorganise ( I seem to spend as much time reorganising these days as I do crafting. But then I have two full days for me. Thanks again for blogging although you were feeling rubbish. Xx

  166. Hi Sue,
what a great card to remind us to think about the "negative" space - the design left behind when we cut out our dies. It is used to great effect here.
Hoping you will be fully recovered soon, but if you have to be ill how nice it must be to be with your Mom. There's no one who knows how to look after us, or what we might need, quite like our Mothers!

  167. Hello Sue, I hope you feel even better tomorrow. Take care of yourself.

Your card is just stunning! I got my POTW last week and I have been playing a lot, made some flowers with the bauble blossom, some of the cut fold and tuck dies. I haven't played with my Asters yet but they will be used this week.

Thank you for your inspirational cards and I have been looking through some past designs too.

    Hugs

  168. Hi Sue I am late posting because it is my Granddaughter's birthday today so been out for the day with her. I love the card you have posted today it is such a good idea to use the die as a negative as well as a positive. You must look after yourself Sue you are such a thoughtful person you must put yourself first, but I know what you mean about you must post you know how crafting helped me.
    Lots of hugs (x)
