Good morning all! This is one of my favourite cards from the past shows! I adore these dies and I love this paper so it all worked for me. I found a few more pieces of this paper in my stash (did the happy dance!) so you will see it a couple more times in the future I am sure. (In case you want to know, it is by S.E.I. and it is called Jolie Chocolat). It has the prettiest shimmer to it, but it just doesn't show up in the photos unfortunately. I used the Layered Scallop Posy die from Heartfelt Creations to cut the top and bottom sections of the card. This die cuts the half circle part but the bottom edge stays attached to your card. I left about an inch between the two cuts where I placed my sentiment on a (yes another) forked flag then matted it in gold and grey card. At the edge of the flag, I added a flower made from the background paper using the Spiral Flower 3. I cut several of the gorgeous swirl that is sold in the Decorative Dutch Iris set, so that they were radiating outward from my flower. I added a few bits from the Bella Rose set and a piece of gold tulle from my craft stash to create a floral element on my card. I added a couple of partial mats in gold card then pierced the edges to complete my card. I will have a sneak peek for you tomorrow so please check back in the morning. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful, these are my next lot of dies to get, I do find that all of the cards that I make are made with spellbinder dies, I can't leave them alone. I spent the afternoon yesterday rearranging all my dies and labeling them on my magnetic sheets. I am going to get my Hubby to make a frame to put them all the wall in my craft room so that I can access them more easily. Look forward to Friday.

I started a card yesterday using this same dye and pale cream card (both from your stand at Ally Pally) I cut mine into a circle shape with a gold circle behind it these are mounted onto cream card embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folder (Flourishes Frame) one up one down overlaping the centre, (its hidden behnd the gold circle anyway) this is mounted on to a gold frame then the whole thing is attached to an A5 cream card. I hope to add some embelishments today. Good Luck with the show.Bren

ReplyDeleteVery ellaborate I love it. You can see the shimmer on the smaller pick, the paper looks scrummy. The greenish yellow goes great with the chocolate. well done. Looking forward to tomorrows offerings but alas the purse is empty I have bought the last two big bundles and just cannot get anymore just now. but I will be watching.

ReplyDeleteWe have done it again.The wall paper on your site, i have just used to cover the file boxes and pencil holder in my craft room lol. And this card i made for Easter hehe nearly the same. Teal and brown. ( I did a bow where you have the swirls.lol.)Think yours is much better .I was clever with mine . I cut the die and loaded onto my silhouette duplicated and cut out. So didn't have to line up the die was perfect on the silhouette. What a cheat i am. lol.Love the colour of your card. So singing and dancing card this one .Brill job Sue x

I can see the shimmer beautifully on screen at the top of the card. Gives a softening effect.

Sue, one of my impossible wishes is to some day go through your paper stash - you have such a range of colours & patterns it must take an age to pick out the ones you want LOL You can bet if it's taken me an hour to make a card, at least 15mins of that hour has been spent shuffling through paper & card to find what I want & my stash must be the tinniest fraction of your's!

I love this die and used mine yesterday to shape the top of an A6 card, although I do need to practice with it as it was a little lopsided. I hid this by creating a vine going up one side and along the bottom of the scallop and adding some flowers from the same die set. This too looks stunning. To recreate yours I'd need tonns of practice to get them level with each other.

ReplyDeleteI love all the dies you've used here. Have some of the heartfelt creations dies and they are wonderful. Also loving the spiral flower 3 - that's one for the wish list! The swirl from the dutch iris set is great but I must admit I don't see myself using the other two dies that come with it,that is why I've not bought it yet, maybe they'd be good too but I'm just not seeing it.

I won't lie, the colours are not sitting 100% with me, again not sure why, but your design is so good I may be Casing this one.
