Good morning my crafty friends! I wanted to show some of the ways that the Heartfelt Creations Decorative lace border could be used. It is a very wide border so it could be limiting because of it's size. I found this border to be extremely versatile because of its size though. I used it here by cutting it into two sections and removing the centre area. I cut the border after the lattice section and matted it with teal card then added some foam mounting to the back. I added it atop the bottom section of the border for dimension. The background of the card was stamped with the sentiment then embossed with Labels 24 twice so it overlapped the first one, creating a ring around my sentiment. I lightly inked the area with chipped sapphire to highlight the embossing. I made several flowers using the spiral flower three die. The bottom one was made using black glitter card and the top three flowers were made using decorative paper. I cut the die twice and made three flowers from it by cutting the die rather than spiralling the entire length of the die cut. I used the leftover piece from the cut to make a small third flower. I added some black glitter card leaves for balance. I finished the card with some black rhinestone swirls and paper piercing around the edges. I hope you like my take on the decorative lace border and flowers. All for now, Sue x
Guten Morgen liebe Sue! Good morning!

ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteThe way you combine colours, textures and patterned papers is wonderful. This along with the way you use your dies - embossing the centre panel twice and cutting down the border instead of using it as it was intended - not only makes your cards really amazing but continues to inspire me every day! Thank you.
Joan B.

ReplyDeleteWell Nadine is right with this one, it definitely deserves a star. It gets my gold start as I think this is 'practically perfect in every way'.
ReplyDeleteYes its a film again, not sure why other than that phrase though. Do you recognise it and know which film it is from?
Well I am feeling a bit naughty today, so if you haven't guessed my clues are:-
Bird head umbrella,
A singing reflection,
A boom every hour,
Tuppence and last but not least
she is 'practically perfect in every way!'............
You must have it by now....well one last clue, and yes it'actually a song.....
'A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, the medicine go dow..own, medicine go down'
you got it.. it's Mary Poppins. I bet you started singing it then didn't you. lol!! I was.
Have a successful weekend and I hope you get to meet lots of your blogfriends (I know they are dying to meet you from what I read).
Big hugs Linda
Wow wow wow I love this card really like the colours you have used, I have been having a play with my blossom 3 die couldn't get away how you managed to create a different look by cutting tops off and making fringe. These colours are scrumptious and I tend to forget that you can use the dies to emboss with! Thanks for reminding me - the centre of the card is really something, especially after using the inks to tint the edges.
