Almost White On White

Hi everyone!  I probably should have just gone ahead and done the all white card with this one, but I just wanted a pop of colour on it and this navy blue silky crush ribbon is just delicious in real life.  I could not resist it!  I cut an aperture in the background with labels 24 and raised the back piece up on mounting foam.  Behind the opening, I embossed a piece of white card that I had stamped my sentiment on to first.  I placed this behind my aperture and cut a Heartfelt Creations Oval Window die and and nipped out the centre window crossbars and  mounted it over my opening.  Although, it mostly covers it, you can still see a bit of the labels 24 shape behind it and I liked that.  I cut two borders using the new edgeability dies and layered them on the bottom of my card.  I added rows of pearls around the to edge of the card as an accent.  Using my silky crush ribbon, I tied a double bow and added a pearl embellishment from my stash to the centre.  I finished off the bow with a couple of the pearl stick pins (available through any Creative Expressions stockists to answer a question from a comment left a few days ago).  I finished the card with piercing around the edge to give it an elegant look.  I really liked the simplicity of this card (yes, it sang to me!)  All for now, Sue x

  12. Morning Sue, I think I would prefer white on white, but this is what makes your blog so interesting you give us something to think about. To blue bow or not to blue bow? That bloggers is the question. Fantastic card with or without the blue bow. Thanks again Sue. Best wishes Lesley x

  16. Morning Sue,

I love this card and Navy is such an elegant colour. I am in the process of trying a white on white card atm. I'm trying it with Centura White card, but wondered if I should have used a supersmooth. Will have to try both to see which works best.

  22. What another fab card. I love white on white and have made a few lately but on a couple of them i've been asked to put a bit of colour so have tended to use red or lilac. But I do like this one with the much darker colour. Beautiful as usual. I might try my one next with a dark colour like this Sonia, Neath

  35. Hi Sue,
lovely white card today. It could be used for weddings and anniversaries. I always include the colours of the bridesmaids on my wedding cards. So any different colour bow would look great don't you think. I just love your pearly button on top of the ribbon. I have tried recreating ones with small pearl beads and glue gel. They came out quite good but not as lovely as yours.
    Have a great crafty day.

  182. Sue, this is such a beautiful card, as usual. I so love 'white on white' and your little touch with the coloured bow, really works. I have just one question though. The white card that you use always looks really good quality and looks the part. Could you possibly let us know what type of card do use that gives such stunning effects.
    Thanks again Sue.

  183. Love your white on white and the pop of colours works with this card.
I have been asked to make a wedding card for a Cadbury purple theme wedding and cannot come up with a elegant combination so going to layout an all white and silver card and try a big purple bow see how it looks, thanks for the inspiration.
My dies and goodies arrived today after I left to baby sit my grandchildren. The packages has been destroyed in transit AGAIN so not sure what I am going home to find.
Hope it's all there so I can have a play tomorrow.
    Keep up the good work.
    All the best Pauline.
