Embossed I Do

Hi blog friends!  This card may seem very familiar because I have used this layout many times.  I particularly like the embossed background on the back piece and on the foreground.  I find that if I am even a tiny bit stuck for an idea, this type of card is my "go to" layout.  It always seems to give me some inspiration.  I thought it would make a nice wedding card (in this case, but Valentines, anniversary or birthday too with small changes).  Truth be told, I made the card so I could use the rose
lace that I had in my stash!  I picked the cream and pale pink colours to compliment the lace piece.  I used the Floral embossing folder to create the background pieces and matted both with pink card.  I stamped my rose and sentiment and cut them out with an oval nestibility die.  I cut a slightly larger oval die in pink to mat it.   I used an older Spellbinders die and cut an accent piece for the top of the oval.  I used Spun Sugar distress ink to give the accent piece some coordinating colour.  I finished the card with a double bow from pale pink satin ribbon and a couple of pink heart stick pins from my craft stash.  It's a girly girl card, but it is still one of my favourite types of cards.
I've got some more pics from CHA that I took so I will be putting the rest of them in another post later today at 3pm again.  All for now, Sue x

  61. That rose lace is gorgeous - good idea to match it up with the stamped rose. The embossed background and foreground look great separated by the layer of pink - something else I'd never thought of doing - thanks. Personally, I wouldn't have put the bow on there but that's just me - I really don't 'do' bows much at all.

  84. Hi Sue,
Hope you are having a good day and getting alittle bit of 'me' time since CHA.
I love the single rose on this Sue. I have this one or one very similar that I have decoupaged before, adding extra ones to the sides to form a mini bouquet and it always looks stunning, as does yours.
The way you have matched up the embossing folder to the rose ribbon is superb, anyone would thing they were made to be together. Such a delicate card - perfect for a wedding or anniversary.
Enjoy the rest of your day, whatever you are doing.
