My Favs of 2011

Happy New Years everyone!  I thought I would re post a few of my favourite cards from 2011 today.  They aren't in any particular order, just cards that I was particularly happy with when I finished them.  Most of them really scream  "Sue made me," and you can definitely tell what I like from them all, even though there are one or two cards without a single bit of ribbon on them! (Such restraint on my part!) LOL  There are one or two cards missing that I would have liked to include, but Blogger was not wanting to upload as many as I wanted!  I would love to know, though, if you have any favs from the past year that I haven't included.  I often find it fascinating to see which cards get the most comments and usually they aren't the ones that I think they would be! One of my least favourite cards this year was a silver, white and blue Christmas card with a tree on it and it got over 100 comments.  It narrowly survived being binned, I so didn't like it, go figure!  It is nice that we don't all have the same taste, but I am very glad that you like the majority of what I do so you come back to visit often!  Thank you again for all your support in 2011, I really have appreciated it so much.  I am looking forward to showing more exciting cards and projects in 2012 and I hope you will all be part of it too!  All for now, Sue x

  34. Happy New Year to everyone. I love this selection they all shout 'Sue'. 7 (numbering down) is my all time favourite & my love of 9 surprised me as it is not my style at all. I would have included Butterfly fun (posted 30th September) for it's beauty & the out of the box technique (posted 25th April) as it was seeing this card demonstrated on create and craft that drew me into the world of the Grand Callibur, nestabilities & spellbinders. If you haven't had chance to see these yet I recommend a look.

your a cruel woman , lol . How can we possibly pick one?!?!?!?! Have to say i love the plaited ribbon through the die on number 7 but then love the colour and simplicity of butterfly card. Also like the card with 3 buckles on. Its too hard a challenge to pick one. All i know is i want to include a spellbinder on every card now. Thanks to your programs and blogs.

More Sue for 2012 (what more can u possibly being us) and a very happy new year to you and all your family and bloggers.

Sue my favourite card that you did was the whiite card with the tied together embossing folder with all the gold dots and "live life to the fullest" stamp across the centre with the wide white ribbon on. I thought that you could use this card for all occassions (hope I described it so that you know which one I am talking about). Really difficult to say which one I like the best as you do so many cards that I love.
Hope 2012 will be good to you.

Well, Sue, they are all beautiful but your no 1 is mine as well white on white plus anything with teal and anything using the foliage set but one other technique and card I liked which was a little different was Autumn is in the air at the beginning of November.

Although I wasn't going to buy them I now have ordered all the Edgeabilities courtesy of the Create and Craft sale so I shall be looking back at some of your cards using them over the next couple of weeks.

    Bye for now

It took my breath away, no way I would try to compete,it also meant I had to have a completely re-think as everyone was going to want to make an all white card. Thanks for throwing a spanner in the works Sue! LOL! My other two favourites on today's blog are the teal and black with butterfly, classy, not frilly, and the superb steampunk. x

All your cards are beautiful, Sue, but my all time fav is the Upcycle card you did with the tree stamped onto old dictionary pages and cut out with the teardrop circles die. For me it was very elegant, yet simple. I loved the use of old papers and a natural colour pallette, I will admit that I am a wee bit scared of bright colours though, maybe That should be my new years resolution. Do you have any Sue??

  98. Hi Sue, Oh what a feast for the eyes this is! So gorgeous they are almost edible! I have to agree that the white one is breathtaking, then the friend one in colours of Edinburgh rock, the teal and the happiness butterfly and the treasured friend I love equally, with the wings of the butterfly to follow. For my personal favourites list I would substitute just because and the steampunk ones with tied together (like Alison I had to buy folder straight away too) and the red and white holly Christmas card. Hope you have all had a lovely New Years Day. Sue x

  99. Happy new year Sue & fellow blog followers! I think my favourite is probably the teal panel one with the butterflies, but I also like the steampunk one. The white on white card is probably third choice, though I also liked the two steampunk ones you did before. I am thinking there is not a lot of ribbon on these ones ;o and a lot of them are about spellbinders rather than stamping techniques which I used to love watching you do. I guess we may not always agree on exactly which is our favourite, there is still something that we like in your style, the way you use colour and compose all the elements into a cohesive card. Sometimes I visit your blog and look at the card you have posted and just go 'oooooh' or 'wow', I dont always leave a comment as I cant always think what to say!!!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Happy New Year Sue and to your family of bloggers! My fave is definately the first card above, the white on white. I love doing this myself, as I feel it is so classy and rather beautiful. The other favourites are your Teal coloured cards, especially the Butterfly one. I love the clean lines. I also liked the leaf mask background using autumn colours and black. I saw you demoing it at Ally Pally. Hugs, Carol S.xx

  108. Tricky one choosing a fav from this line up...I love white on white but I'm usually a fan of bright colours, the teal with the butterfly is so classy and simple, I love simple lines. Have you thought anymore about selling your samples for charity, I for one would love one of your samples and if it supports a charity at the same time, everyone's a winner? Dawn x

rare to see a great blog like this one today.
