Ethel And Friends!

Good morning blog friends!  Be prepared for a good giggle at today's post.  I have loaded four cards for you to see today, mostly because they are all very similar and a bit of fun.  The sentiments are the best!  I shouldn't laugh at them as they are hitting really close to home these days!  My 55th is looming only a few months away now and I will officially get my senior citizens discount here in Florida, (maybe even in the UK, I'll have to check on that!) but if you can't laugh at yourself.... then everyone else will do it for you, huh! LOL  These characters are part of our Murray and Ethel line of rubber stamps.  This first card is Ethel herself!  Don't you just love that mug (and those hairy legs, really Ethel!)  I feel her pain where that sentiment is concerned, though!  The ladies in the last three cards haven't been officially named yet.  Maybe you could help me out there and give me some ideas.  What do they look like?

I made all of these cards last year when I was here and since my supplies were a bit limited, I paper pieced all their outfits with the matching background papers rather than trying to colour them with the six coloured pencils and handful of distress inks I had at the time.  They are really good fun if your recipient has a good sense of humour.  I didn't get any cards made with Murray, but he is a gem too.  I won't go into any detail on the cards as they are all fairly similar in style.  If you have any questions about them, feel free to email me.  I hope you have a good chuckle at them and they start your day off right!  All for now, Sue x

  2. I just love the Ethel and Murry stamps and have made a few cards using them but not quite as elegant as yours, they are brill. You may be glad to know that you wont be classed as a senior citizen until you are at least 60 and even then you may have to wait another year or two to get that status. So Sue you are just getting middle aged He He. x

  7. Good Morning Sue, were you looking at me when you did the first card??? Now that the laughing has died down a bit - yes! even this early.............LOL
I can tell you I just LOVE these cards they are real fun.
Don`t worry you have a while to go, you have to be at least 60 here in UK before you qualify for any discount for age. Remember once you reach that you become a "Recycled Teenager" and the fun starts!!!!
    Have a great day

  13. I really love these cards Sue, I don't think you can call yourself senior in the UK even though I will be 60 this year I won't be getting my pension until I reach 62 and 8 months :) they did make me laugh and I can well relate to the weight think :) x

  14. The colours in the last one are so good together, I think the second lady could be a Deidre as we have a similar looking lady in one of ours soaps with that name! I never think to put stamps of this kind with all the docorations so you have inspired me yet again! x

  17. hi I've seen the ethel and murray stamps before and they certainly make me chuckle. The cards you have made with ethel are great and give them an elegant look. Glad you are having a good break and hope to see you back on C&C soon.

  18. Morning Sue, love these cards, the sentiments are great and as my friends are all over 60, would be ideal for them. How about Agnes for the one with the longer hair (reminds me of my sister and that is her name) and Doris and Audrey for the others? I am afraid you will be nearer 65 in the UK before you are a senior citizen because of the change in rules. I will be 61 in May but don't qualify for senior citizen statis until July! Have a good day. love Jean x

  26. HA ha ha ha ha Thank you soo much for a really good laugh here Sue. These really made my day start good today.
I don´t know exactly about the rules in UK, but have heard they´re dragging that age longer too now. Here we´ve just had it dragged once again, so we now has to be 69 before we can be considdered a senior. Just 2 years ago it was 60 then it was 65 and now they´ve just raised it again to 69, so when it´s my turn, it´s probably all gone LOL. (I´m about your age too.)

Right after exploring through the online world and obtaining tricks that were not helpful, I figured my life was gone. Being alive without the solutions to the issues you've resolved as a result of the short article is a crucial case, and the kind which could have badly affected my career if I hadn't come across your web page. Your actual training and kindness in handling all areas was important. I am not sure what I would have done if I hadn't come upon such a step like this. It's possible to now relish my future. Thank you so much for the high quality and result oriented help. I will not be reluctant to endorse your web blog to anybody who should receive guidelines on this subject.
