. Hi there crafty friends! Today's card was a bit of an experiment and the judgement is still out on this one for me. In my minds eye, I thought it would be a really pretty combination of the pastel pink and burgundy with the vellum overlay on the sentiment and the butterfly. It wasn't one of my favourite cards but I didn't think it deserved orphan status either. It has grown on me a bit though. I used the Washed Away embossing folder to create both pale pink background pieces. Both were matted with ivory card then burgundy. I added a bow from the burgundy frilly edged ribbon with a decorative pin for an accent. I stamped my sentiment on ivory card and cut it out with the lacy oval dies. I cut one more in burgundy and one in vellum also. The burgundy die was mounted slightly offset to look like a shadow and the vellum was mounted over the sentiment to give it a softer look. I hid the adhesive with tiny pearls around the edge. I cut the large butterfly out of burgundy card and also vellum and mounted them together with some pale pink pearls for the body. Maybe it just needs some piercing! What do you think? All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue
Lovely card, my personal opinion is that it does not need anymore on it. I love the butterfly when you put a darker card underneath. Definitely not an orphan card.
Sue
Not one of your favorit cards??? Never mind, cause it´s definitely one of mine he he he. It is soo beautiful Sue with that gorgeous butterfly and the exactly this soft look makes it sooo beautiful and the ribbon is awesome too, so I think, it´s just perfect and I love it.
A pretty card, I love your more grungy but certainly a lovely card, hugs trace x
I love it, a beautiful card that is certainly no Orphan!!
I like the Butterfly with the dark card and vellum overlay.
Patricia xx
I really like it. The butterfly is one of my favourite dies and one I use a lot. Karen x
I like it, It's very soft looking.
She x
I like it clean and simple angxxx
My favourite butterfly die is always a good start unfortunately I cant see the colours as they look yellow on my screen but they sound ok. As you say a pretty card. x
Another beautiful card although I don't think I am seeing the colours as you describe. I don't think any of your cards should be resigned to the orphan collection they are all gorgeous in their own way. xx
I agree with others, definitely not an orphan card at all. I am also not seeing the colours as you described, but I love your combo. :)
hi sue, I think this card is simply elegant, and I love the butterfly, sometimes less is more and I certainly think this is true of this card, it doesn't need anything else.
love jan x
very lovely card and love that HUGE butterfly. :D
Beautiful card! I love this butterfly and the bow is so beautiful.
Hugs, Uta
Hi Sue,
Not an orphan card just an understated beautiful creation.

HIya Sue, I like this card it is delicate and pretty, everything goes together so well. I would delighted if I received this for my birthday. All the best Suzie B x
Love the colours and embossing and beautiful sentiment. I would be tempted to put some paper piercing in the corners maybe our on the outside of the sentiment to make it pop more.
hi Sue, love this card love the butterfly die , which is on my wish list/need list lol. very nice card but as others have said cant really see the colours as described. xx hazel
Great card.
Hi Sue this is just lovely....I really dont have much fun with vellum, it either cracks in the embossing folder or I make a mess attaching it ....so well done to you for such a lovely card.....whats the weather like over there? take care Margaret
Hi Sue, wonderful card. Pity the colours don't show as true on the computer. I bet the colours are great if we could see them in the flesh so to speak. I made a card in burgundy and yellow those colours look fab together too. Just love the butterfly die. I use it on most of my cards because I love it sooooooo much.
Lots of love. Jenny L
Hi Sue
could it be there is not as many layers as normal?!?! I like the texture you have put on the card. I wouldn't want to detract from that. I am going to do the shadow effect on my next card as like that look a lot. Then the bow. Well the ribbon is beautiful both in design and colour. Ah no topping on you bow could that be what is bothering u? No button, or twine or jewel? Yes think that would finish off nicely. But still love your work. Well done Sue.

You've used my favourite butterfly again...personally if this butterfly was adhered to a black bin liner it would make it look beautiful! He! He! Seriously though, I really like this card Sue, as usual your choice of colour scheme is gorgeous! Carole Z xx
I like this very much!!
I like the way the butterfly is off the edge, it makes things interesting, I like it but we all know sometimes we have an idea and it doesn't end up how we expected, people say 'oh thats nice' but we know it wasn't what we wanted. It is still as always a great card
Sue, this card is nowhere near being an 'orphan.' I love it!
I love this card - it is very elegant because of its 'simplicity'. Its just lovely.
I love the soft colours in this card, and personally don't think anything should be added to it as it's perfectly balanced.
Pretty card. x
Good morning Sue, Its a lovely design, I cant see the colours though, but Im sure they are excellent as they usually are, thank you Helen O xxx
PS hope you are enjoying the sunshine with your Mum xx
Lovely card Sue! I love the fab design and the colors. Hugs and have a great weekend! Hanneke

Lizzie (serial copycat) xx
Lovely subtle colours. I love the butterfly die.
Clare x
This is a good one sue as i never know what to do with vellum.Love it Nattyboots.x
Don't think it needs anything more at all, just lovely as it is.
Beautiful card Sue, must try adding vellum over a verse, it's really effective.
Chris x
This is lovely I like the vellum overlay - gives a subtleness to the card. I struggle to find uses for vellum, but this is a brilliant idea.
Hi Sue, I like all your butterfly cards including this one, defo a winner. Yvonne xx
I do love this card. Definitely a winner for me too. Yes I like the use of the vellum it adds a subtleness to the card.
Hi Sue, I love the card. You are such a harsh critic.
The butterfly die is definitely the next one I intend to invest in, as it really adds something to a card. A very good friend currently uses her's to cut butterflies for me & sends them through the post. But I really need my own. With Love & Light Theresa. H
hi Sue i think the card is very nice, i feel that the photo does not do it justice
Ita
Very nica card!
P.S. I love the wording
Ita
That shadow effect is really nice.....you keep on coming up with such great ideas!!!! meg xxxx
Since I love butterflies, I was especially excited to see the quote you put on your card. I am definitely going to use that! You know, it's sometimes difficult to know when to stop with a card. With this card, I think if you added one more element, it would ruin the balance and so you'd have to add even more elements. But, as it is, it's a lovely CAS card and I would not change a thing. I hope that made sense! lol
I think this card is beautiful and works very well, I love the soft effect of the velum,
I loved this card when you showed it on C&C melanie
I love this card Sue, but thanks to you, I now prick holes in everything, so I would probably do that to this one! but I think it looks fabulous just as it is. x Lesley
Love the use of offsetting to create the shadows
Love the softness with the vellum and the bow. Really pretty
Tracy x
I like the colour combination of this card and really like the use of velum just over the sentiment to create a lovely soft touch
Hi Sue. Think this card looks lovely as it is. Unfortunately the colours are not so clear on my computer (looks a bit yellow) but the combination of pink and burgundy is great. Love the use of the vellum.

Beautiful card, just love the butterfly. Anne Rx
Love the background on this sue so subtle lovely x
Another great card Sue. I love that embossing folder and the butterfly. I don't really think that it needs anything else.
I do love that butterfly, I use mine a lot and feel it really makes the card
Gill
The card looks fine Sue - just not as ornate as your usual ones but sometimes that's just fine!
Simply beautiful.
This card is really beautiful. I love using vellum with my butterflies punches and dies. Lee xx
hi Sue this is fab i love the vellum and i too think that your colours work beautifully together xx
Hi Sue,
Hope you are well and are taking some time to relax.
I love the use of vellum to overlay an image or a greeting, it creates such a soft almost ethereal effect. I love pure white over a christmas image to give the impression of frost.
Thats a lovely embossing folder you have used, I don't have that one so must look out for it.
Take care Linda
Beautiful card! Love the embossing, ribbon, and the vellum.
Hi Sue
Beautiful card, I love the verse and th butterfly
Sue. H. xx
Love the card and the use of vellum, which I hve not tried yet. As others have stated, the butterfly die is lovely one to have in one's collection.

This is just sooooooo sophisticated. (I hope I spelt that right!)
Another gorgeous card Sue, haven't got these dies but will definately be on my wish list.
Susan.xx
no definitely not an orphan card , far too nice for that
If it were an orphan, I would be glad to adopt it. I like the simplicity and think it has enough on it. Sometimes less is more.

Dear Sue
A pretty colour combo. Vee x
really pretty, Lov this one .
Jane xx
Definately not an orphan card Sue
LOL
Heather x
Hi Sue, this is definitely not an orphan - if it was I would adopt it! The butterfly is one of my favourite dies and because it is so big you don't need much else to go with it. A lovely card again. Thanks and blessings.

Really pretty Sue! - wish my old computer screen would pick up the colour better for me to see
Really love Hugs Bee
I love the butterfly and the ribbon & bow, I think The shadow cards work ,I dont think its an orphan, but maybe it doesnt quite all hang together? If so, I am not sure what you could do to correct it. I guess you could dismantle it, pierce it then compare before and after pics? But maybe it just needs a swipe with a distress ink over the embossed backgrounds?
Like this card a lot, a softer one and definately not an orphan x
Hi Sue, I loved everything about this gentle card, definitely not an orphan! Love the colours, love the butterfly die, (I have it too), and love that sentiment, (which I don't have yet, but it's only a matter of time ....) Sue x
WoW! This is a very lovely card!!! I love butterfly and the vellum with dark colors. You just can't go wrong with this card! Hugs Mimi
