More Lace Doily Fun

Good morning all!  I had a good rummage around and finally found the picture of this card that is another version of the card I posted on Tuesday.  I cut the lace doily motif dies in half again, but I mounted the borders over the edge of them this time.  I used the smaller lace doily accent pieces to create a fun corner piece for interest.  I used the really small accent piece to top it and bring some more red into the card for balance.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with labels 22 and inked around the edge.  When I demoed this, I used the black soot for this which I prefer to the Fired Brick used here, but I didn't photograph that one before they sent it out to an email recipient (you have to be quick and I wasn't!)  I used the black rhinestone Nestabling to give it a more focal centre and I cut a second labels 22 in black as a mat and turned it in the opposite direction.  Both this card and the previous version are extremely quick to make and work well for both male or female depending on the colour and the sentiment used, don't you think?  All for now, Sue x

  32. Thanks for showing us the other variation Sue. I personally prefer the lilac version, though only because of one thing: I am not a lover of the corner pieces sorry.
I have had a look at the schedule for your shows Sue, and if its any help to anyone these are the times at present:
    TUES 13Dec C&C 5&6pm - Ideal World 10pm &12am.
    WED 14Dec C&C 11am & 6pm - Ideal world 8pm.
Looking forward to seeing your latest works of art. Have a good day one and all.

  34. I really like the original use of the lacy doily squares to make such an elegant focal point but I have to be honest and say I am not keen on the lace doily accent pieces on each corner - I think it's because they seems to compete with the beautiful central feature for attention. The colours are lovely and I will definitely use the lace doily squares this way myself. Really looking forward to seeing you soon Sue - I think we all get withdrawal symptoms when we don't see you for a while on C&C.
    lots of love lilygee xxx

  56. Love the doily dies and again an unusual colourway that really works - just imagine how much confetti you'd get out of this one :) - great card!

  57. I like this one, I think it is more geometric than the other version - and for some reason that makes it more masculine? but then it could be because to me it looks rather like a game of dominoes is being played. I am sure the centre piece could be altered to reflect that rather than the reminder of the formal garden layout that this one also makes me think of?

  58. This is a very masculine card. I think I like it for that. Hugs, Mimi
