A Vintage Edgeability Card

Hi blog friends!  Here is one of the cards from todays shows.  The first eight shows are based on the Grand Calibur and the edgeabilities for the most part.  This card does feature some of the Spellbinders dies from the POTD shows which start Wednesday evening too.  If you missed any of the dies from previous sold out Spellbinders shows, many of them have been brought back for these shows.  The mix is different this time as the bundles were based on availability of the product, but trust me they are all really nice choices.  I've used the scallop edgeability die and insert to create a border which I laced the vintage ribbon through.  I picked an October Afternoon paper for the background of this card and because it has such a vintage feel to it, I made my flowers out of old dictionary pages.  I found the book while in Florida with my daughter.  What a find for a quarter (that is like 15 p here).  I have used it many many times and I am still only to the C's in the book!  The focal element was created by using the Lacy Squares, the diamond shape nestie and one of the dies from the tag one set.  I used the black PVA glue to make my "pearls" around the border to frame and complete the card.  What's the verdict on this one?  All for now, Sue x

  6. Love the vintage style and the diamond really suits this card - never thought the diamond would suit a vintage card but it's simplicity is a nice contrast to the ornate tag. Good luck with the shows Suex

  18. Another beauty Sue, just been watching your 7pm show with it set to record. I can't believe no one has asked you to make a card for them. You will be inundated with requests now from all your followers.
Where do your ideas come from as each card you show is gorgeous.
Doesn't look like I will get much done tommorrow.
    Have a fund day.

  20. WOW another gorgeous card here again Sue. I have just been watching 3 of your shows here today on my computer, and it was sooo awesome. You looked really great, and all the gorgeous cards there were sooo amazing too. I wish, I could find out, if we can join there from other countries too, or it´s just for the UK people, but they never answered the mail I sent them and asked. I would sure have loved to write in and win one of your gorgeous cards there, that´s for sure, and I was sooo surprised to hear, that noone had ever asked you to make them one. I would sure love to one of these beauties to my trasurebox here, that´s for sure ha ha ha. I love your work, so beautiful.

  22. Hi Sue

I have just been watching you on C&C and someone e-mailed in regarding the sticky tape you use to secure the dies.

I had the same problem using low tack tape tearing the card.

I have now found that 3M Scotch Removable Magic Tape 19mm x 33m which I purchased for £3.99 is great. I have not had a problem since.

Hope this is of some help to you.

    Regards

    Wendy

  35. This is another really lovely card, I want to have a go at making flowers like that! The way you have laced the ribbon through on this one, and the other demo you did on tv makes the borders (edgies?) look entirely different. Also the way you mix and match and layer up the different sets really adds visual interest, rather than keeping to the same shape in the nestie set to make frames.
