Thank You

Hi bloggers!  I started the background by covering a piece of card with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing off and coated it with Gemstones Gilding Flakes.  I used a piece of Rubit Scrubit pad to move the flakes all over the background, then to refine the flakes and remove any excess.  Next I used the Double Stitched Squares and set up all of the dies on one piece of coconut white card.  The reason I used all of them is that it helps align the dies evenly and then I can use the leftover bits from every other square on another card in the future.  I added mounting foam yo the three squares I used and added them to the background.  I cut a Pierced Flag and attached to the inside edge of the smallest square.  I cut a white and black version of the Thank you and glued them together, using the black as an offset shadow.  I attached them to the flag.  Using the Decorative version of the Striped Nasturtiums, I made a single flower and added it with white leaves to the end of the flag.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2"  x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now. Sue x

  3. Hi again Sue. I really must use my guilding flakes instead of just looking at them in my shelf, yep, my promise for the day. I do love the nasturtium die, a Valentine's gift from 'my keeper' along with matching stamp bless him, it pays to leave a gift list just hanging innocently around lol. Hope you have a lovely warm day, sending hugs and thanks for your lovely daily inspiration xxx

    Good Morning Sue and all.
A beautiful card Sue and one that I may try quite soon. I have Gilding flakes that I've never used so if I can find a clear spot to work in I may well start this very day.
    How's that for inspiration eh?
Thank you Sue and have a nice day.

  22. Good Morning Sue. Omg how do you do it....I have 4 man cards to do every March.... this is not the first time you have shown a sample...at this time of the year that has given me inspiration to make something different for these men...And what a great card it is...just by changing the sentiment...I have four great birthday cards. I will be making these cards with just a little twist so they are not exact copies...and looking forward to using my "forgotten guilding flakes" that are also sitting on a shelf like Stephs and Doreen. Thankyou so much Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them today. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

  31. Hello Sue. What a great geometric design which can be used as a base for so many different designs. You can add flowers for a more feminine design or keep it more simple for those difficult men.

  32. Hi Sue, something a little different from you today and it is great just as it is or it could be dressed up a little more for someone who would like more frills and flowers. Love the gilding flakes and what a good idea to cut multiple frame dies at once - not sure if my machine would cope but I will definitely give it a go.

  38. Lovely card design with the gilding flakes. Why does one always need to sneeze when working with gilding flakes? Great advice about lining up all of the dies to get the correct spacing before cutting the dies out. Thanks for sharing and the advice today. Hugs
