Hi crafters! I have a milk and black birthday card with a great sentiment to share today! I started by cutting the Squared Square die out of black card and glued a milk backing which was covered with a sticky adhesive sheet. I coated it with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz for a bit of bling to the background. The next layers was the smaller die in the set but cut in milk card and backed with black, then I used the Double Pierced Squares to cut it into a frame. I added it with foam to the card. I cut another one just like it but smaller. I added foam to the back then seated it in a diamond orientation in the card. I cut the smallest die and added it to the very centre. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flag die and seated it across the centre of the card. I used the Starlight Daisies to make three different sized flowers out of milk card. I seated one at the end of the flag and the other two across from it. Milk and black mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh I like this sentiment, certainly different, and I know many of my friends who would appreciate it, such a lovely creation too using your lovely dies, must try this one.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June smith xxx
Hi Sue. This kind of design is timeless if that makes any sense. When you first launched your American dies there were quite a few cards and samples where the same two dies were used, 1 placed as a square, the 2nd placed with a corner pointing to the middle of the card almost giving the diamond effect and I still love using those dies in that design as they are so detailed and full of interest. This sample pops with the black and milk but the whole design is just perfect and one that I know a lot of us will carry on using for quick but very effective cards, you must have given us hundreds of dies by now that we can use to make this diamond shape design and i thank you for that as its such a help for when our grey matter temporarily shuts down (as mine does often) !!
ReplyDeleteSending hugs for the day xxx
Fabulous Sue. This is a great die, always looks good on ‘guy cards’.

Lovely card and love the sentiment too - will have to remember to tell my son that one

Love, love, love!
ReplyDeleteLove the sentiment. We need that!
Love the squared, diamond, squares.
Especially love how the smallest box seems to put the sentiment on a movie marquis.
Love the flowers.
Okay maybe not so wild about the black. Okay, maybe it works. What about silver, black and red?
What about blue and gold and white?
Or reddish gold and a deep mahogany brown? With gilding flakes instead of glitterbitz.
Anyway, this one’s a winner!
Thank you for shooting ideas at us so faithfully that one or two might stick, and for providing us with a search feature to look up the instructions again.
Rock on!

Hello Sue such a lovely card and so useful for lots of birthdays. The daisy dies add a real feminine touch, but take them off and so suitable for a male card. Always find male cards difficult just not sure why though X

Hi Sue, a great card and a design that would look good in many other colours too. The openness of the Starlight Daisies reflects the open squares brilliantly. Omit the flowers and you have a super masculine card or even one for those that don't like frills and flounces (silly people lol).
