Good Sunday morning all! How about a sweet treat for today's card offering? I selected a piece of gingham paper from my stash to use as the background. I cut a Double Pierced Circle multi layered frame out of coconut white card. I cut a wide strip of white card and stamped my sentiment on to it. I attached the strip across the back of the frame then attached the frame to the background. From the Treat Yourself Cupcake die set, I used some glassine paper and cut three of the cupcake wrappers out of it (it really does look like cupcake sleeves) I cut the tops of them out of milk card then added "sprinkles" cut out of sky blue, wisteria and custard card and glued them into place on all three cupcakes. I added two cupcakes under the sentiment then centred the last on in the middle and raised it with mounting foam. I cut one candle and added it to the cupcake in the back, inking the flame then glittering it. I tied a bow out of some twine and added a clear dazzler to the centre then glued it to the bottom corner of the frame. Blue and white mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x
This card is exactly what the sentiment says, sweet. So lovely. This card would suit anyone. Thank you Sue, have a good day. Xxx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue How lovely! this card is just so sweet
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Sue x xhazel
ReplyDeleteWell Sue if your offering a sweet treat who am I to turn it down because these sure do look sweet and yummy AND totally calorie friendly lol. I just loved this sample when you launched these dies it really stood out, not the colour as you've used those calming delicate shades but it's so very pretty, a card that would stand out amongst all others and defiantly a card to raise a smile and a keepsake too beautiful to hide away but to mount on the wall in a lovely box frame. Does it show how much I love this lol.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day however you decide to spend it xxx
Mmmm, yummy! Wonderful card today. Just love those cupcakes. A really lovely card design. Debra x

Morning Sue, a very apt sentiment for a sweet card. I wish I'd eaten those calorie free cupcakes yesterday instead of wine and chocolate as the scales agree with me this morning. Oh well, enjoy your weekend everyone. Hugs xx Pauline
ReplyDeleteHi Sue - such a great card and I know quite a few people who would love this one. The cakes look so realistic - another brilliant idea Sue. Sending best wishes

Beautiful card Sue.

Such restraint! Three cupcakes, pastel sprinkles, one candle, a twine bow, a single dazzle and just a little sparkle in the flame. All tidy in a tasteful frame in a cheery little parlor. I'll bet the candle Is one of those trick ones that light themselves back up again.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your middle of the summer. I finally solved all the challenges of getting my new air conditioner all the way down the hall, into my room, over heaps, onto a bureau, unpacked, fitted with its flanges, lifted over to the window, secured, and plugged in, which involved finding a yardstick, a Phillips head screwdriver, some drill bits but not the drill, all the little parts, the directions, the remote and, miraculously, its battery, and an outlet that didn't require me to do Mission Impossible contortions from the ceiling. And now I'm as cool as a cucumber.
My snowman kit arrived. I looked at his little stick arms and saw Matt doing his Snowman schtick. One of the dies is a small sphere. Is that the bulb for the lamp?
Best,
Donita

What a lovely looking card - cakes good enough to eat!! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, a great card suitable for anyone who likes a treat now and then (or even every day lol) and you really do think of everything right down to the sprinkles. I love the pastel colours you have used but if you substituted primary colours they would look just like Smarties - other candy coated chocolate is available :-) - and I never minded if they bled into the icing.
