I just love them !!! but then I absolutely love the petite tiled square striplet die. I just have to get this die. I love the first card made with the Persian Dawn gilding flakes and black cardstock. The Belgian tag die looks great to. I really love the second card as I love the paper piecing technique. Great colours you have used for your card Sue. I have the die you have used for the centre of this card and it is one of my favourites at the moment. I think if I was to choose a favourite card it would be the second card Sue. Well...Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Well, what a bank holiday treat! Two cards, what can I say, I'm over the moon Sue, you are so spoiling us:-) Great idea showcasing two cards using the same principal die, it gives us a clear idea how to utilise it in different ways to achieve differing looks.
It's no secret that I love gilding flakes, their opulence is unrivalled, and when framed beautifully in black it enhances the richness all the more. Paper piecing is truly a labour of love only to be undertaken by the patient amongst us:-) I love the effect of this card, the colours are very complementary and definitely suitable for the more discerning recipients ie men. Thanks for such a treat Sue it's very much appreciatedxxx
If Bank Holidays are designed to be spent loafing about without any real sense of purpose then I am spending mine with the right idea! Whilst my Mum went out to visit Stirling Castle...or a park bench to be more precise because her mobility problems stopped her doing the necessary climbing.....I on the otherhand spent the day pampering myself and watching tv....I feel very guilty now, if it wasn't for the fact that I had a chat with Yvonne this afternoon I would put myself on that naughty step! Meanwhile she tells me that she produced three cards yesterday!!??! I am suitably impressed...and embarrassed by my own inactivity. I will clearly have to pull my creative socks up before I venture South. Speaking of travelling, my Mum has suggested that I start packing now, a full 16 days before I need to leave.....I find that rather too organised and eager, what do you think?
Myra and Maureen, I would never have dreamed of likening you both to pesky, disease carrying flies but if the cap fits:-) Don't worry, you won't miss a thing because I think that I will need the support of my blog buddies during my stay away, it will be a traumatic experience that may need counselling at the very least:-)
June, I'm so glad you had the birthday you so clearly deserved...and to get a personal message from Sue, wow you lucky lady! I wish that I could meet you and the rest of my blog buddies but it appears that Yvonne has arranged for our paths not to cross, such is her jealousy and possessiveness, by scheduling our visit for the Sunday....it's quieter she says, more time to meet my hero Sue she thinks, so I have to bow to her superior knowledge and overriding bossiness. Maybe if I survive this trip we can all meet up next time in April.
Pam, I'd love to have you tag along with us but I fear that I'd only leave you hanging around for hours waiting on my arrival, you clearly are a morning bird whereas if I'm awake before 10am then there's hell to pay:-) I wonder if Sue is nervous about meeting us, do you think that she may have had the foresight to employ a bodyguard?
Elaine, you poor soul, you really are suffering. I hope the antibiotics kick in soon and the cream gives you some relief. June is spot on about keeping moving though if you possibly can. How heartening about Andrew, onwards and upwardsxxx
Tracy, there's nothing nicer than grey hair on a fresh young face, you rock it baby! Pillar box red you say, I've never had the urge to go bright and bold, preferring dark brown/violet tones but I'm sure you looked great despite what hubby thought...men don't tend to be adventurous do they? Good luck with the pixie challenge.
Hugs to all my blog besties, Frances, Maris, Wheely, Theresa, pat, P, Beth, Rebecca, Jan, Alison,Lorraine, Lynda, Linda and anyone I may have forgotxxxx

Laine1972xxxAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17481463766293753506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7016488341854847919.post-3609130667798347002016-08-28T19:41:44.068+01:002016-08-28T19:41:44.068+01:00I do love a good striplet card - two great example...I do love a good striplet card - two great examples here.Sparrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01710010133288355724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7016488341854847919.post-45590561564674061972016-08-28T19:32:14.956+01:002016-08-28T19:32:14.956+01:00Hi Sue,

How I love a double day and to have 2 cards using the same die showing entirely different styles is such a treat.
The first is so striking with the beautifully rich gilding flakes. The second (red cross) card is more retro but equally fabulous.
I think these cards would be so gratefully received especially for those pesky 'man and boy' cards. Thanks for your continuing inspiration and sharing x
Well much cooler today thank goodness. It has been raining on and off since this morning but is making for a refreshing change and I am not feeling quite so drained.
I managed to get 3 cards made yesterday - yes 3. I'm on a roll. I have been known to gift boxes of handmade cards for friends and relatives birthday and Christmas presents and this has always been a hit causing much delight to the recipient. Well in the past it has been birthday cards and cards for occasions throughout the year which I have given. After hearing a friend expressing her disgust at how expensive it was for 'Special Christmas Cards', and saying how difficult it is to find nice cards I had a brainwave (ouch)! With all Sue's inspiration, what could be better than making some Christmas Cards to gift?
So yesterday I made 3 and I felt rather pleased with myself. Partly because 3 cards in 1 day is something I have failed to achieve for ages and partly because although they were not up to Sue's magnificent and untouchable standard they were not bad.
A little more tidying in the general vicinity of the 'dumping' area in my crafting area and all in all quite fruitful day. I rewarded myself by settling down to watch Casualty with a cup of coffee and a bag of kettle chips - a family size bag of course x
Fluffy - as you know Croydon is a rather middle class, up and coming, hip and trendy place to be! Some would say posh! I just have concerns that this wee lass fro north of the border is going to lower the tone. You know how it is? Lol. Hugs x
Myra - you and me in a room with a white carpet, white curtains and white furniture and some pixie powders - what fun!! Hugs x
Maureen - flies on the wall?? Not man enough to be with us in person? Lol. Hugs x
Laine you will have to eat your cheesecake and Eton mess on the naughty step. I am so thrilled that you have agreed to be in charge of quality control before I give Sue her white chocolate fudge. What would I do without you? Hugs x
Helen - it's apprehension on my part not excitement! Lol. Hugs x
Lynda - we will be at AP on Sunday. It would seem that everyone else is going on Saturday. Hmmm. Do you think they are trying to tell us something? How bout you? Please wear sensible shoes and be carerful to avoid any mishaps! Hugs x
Pam - can you imagine a mass meeting of Wilsonette? Havoc! But well worth it. Hugs x
Tina - glad Peter seemed brighter yesterday. Hugs to you both x
June - a giggle stool will definitely not suffice. I do think stocking up on my tena lady may be a good plan. Lol. Glad you had a lovely birthday. Laine and I planning to go to AP on the Sunday. Hugs x
Tracy - I sincerely hope you are pixieing today. Hugs x
Elaine - I hope you start to feel more 'with it' very soon. Glad Andrew has his appetite back. Hugs x
Off now so I will wish you all a happy Sunday.
Lots of love to everyone, specially Maria, P, Nanna Tina, Wheely, Lorraine and anyone else that my braincell is struggling to remember.
Take care
Happy thoughts
Crafty hugs
Yvonne
xPrincess Pixie!https://www.blogger.com/profile/00034856043985990634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7016488341854847919.post-48406890914246837162016-08-28T15:42:43.895+01:002016-08-28T15:42:43.895+01:00Hello Sue.
