Hi crafters! I selected a piece of Heather card to use for the background. I used an older swirl stamp and a Perfect Medium pad to add some soft swirls to the background for a bit of interest. next I cut the Stained Glass Tulip Egg die. I cut the outer piece in white and the actual egg part of the die in black card. I glued a piece of acetate to the back of the egg. I used various polished silk glitters to fill in each of the areas. Using glue, add it to the back of the egg where the acetate is and just start by adding glue to the areas where the darkest colours will be. When doing this technique, you need to start with the darkest colours first and work your way to the lightest colours so when you tap off the excess glitter it won't show through any other colours. I left it to dry over night before trimming away the excess acetate. I assembled the egg by gluing it to the white backing piece, then I added mounting foam to the back and attached it to the middle of the background. I cut the Easter Wishes sentiment from the Easter Essential set in white and glued it above the Stained Glass egg. The card was completed with white mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" in size. all for now, Sue x

Hi Sue

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue and all that visit this morning. I have said before.... I am not a lover of paper piercing. It always looks lovely but it's not for me. Doesn't mean I don't like the card ...because I do. And anyone receiving this will be more than happy. In Easter Morning. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs 🤗 and best wishes to everyone. Please stay safe and well 🙏.

Lovely post that doesn’t scream Easter (other than the sentiment). Also love the colours used 😊
ReplyDeleteLove the colours. The whole card is lovely but different (in a good way) from other Easter cards. X
