Thinking Of You

Hi crafters!  I embossed a piece of coconut white card with the Butterfly Dreams Embossing folder.  I inked the edges lightly with Stormy Sky distress ink then ran a bead of Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue around the edge.  I sprinkled it with Iced Snow then allowed it to dry.  Next I cut a frame using the Double Pierced Noble Circles.  I wrapped the circle frame with Bluebird coloured satin ribbon, tucking the final end to the back of the frame.  I added a single bow to the frame towards the corner of the card and topped it with a white crystal sparkler.  On a separate piece of coconut white card I used a hand cut cloud stencil and added some lightly inked clouds.  I cut several of the Delightful Daisies dies in white and then used spray glue and coated them with Diamond Sprinkles.  I stamped my sentiment in the clouds and arranged the flowers across the bottom so as not to cover the sentiment.  I added mounting foam to the back of the satin ribbon wrapped frame and attached it over the flowers and sentiment.  I completed the card with a white and periwinkle card mat and layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. lovely card Sue, so beautiful. Love the blue ribbon bound accent.
Laine, my deepest sympathies on losing your Aunt, a hard blow for you and your Mum, thinking of you both.
Tina, I was deeply saddened that things went so badly to get Peter the help he needed but he will be well looked after now. No wonder you were exhausted with it all. I hope he is feeling better today after the fluid intake. Please tell him I send a huge hug for him.
Elaine, I hope Andrew is not too down about the delay. He will be better able to handle the chemo if his body is a bit stronger, but I understand his frustration.. His finish line must seem so far away to him.
Lesley glad you have your new wheels, just be careful. Our frost is so thick here I thought snow had fallen and it's so cold to match, Jan from Oz take note.
Eight of us went to the cinema yesterday to see Fantastic Beasts then onto a Carvery afterwards. My daughter booked us in as the Clampetts, remember them from tv. My nephew is having a great time with my grandchildren, it is lovely to see, and I am so enjoying them being here.
Daily hugs to all, including poorly missing friends, big hug for NannaTina.

  3. Got card and fabulous and unusual way to use ribbon. I love it.

There's been so much sadness over the last few days and weeks. My heart goes out to all those suffering or in pain for whatever reason. Hugs to all.

Trying to clear my craft room at the moment following the Christmas scramble. Last year I managed to lose a die - I think it went in the recycling so am being ultra careful this year.

    Happy crafting.

  7. Morning Sue. What a wonderful idea encasing the die cut in ribbon, I've never seen you do this before, a fantastic idea for weddings, milestone anniversaries etc. I'm looking forward to using my new delightful daisy die, it's come away with us as I can put the smallest one through my mini die cutter while I'm here, started using the 'in the garden' shadow box accessories yesterday, a little bit of a fiddle as losing the tips off both index fingers, I struggle to hold such dies as the ladybird and garden tools so it probably took over an hour longer to do than someone with normal fingers lol but I'm glad I persevered because it looks so cute and so many options to mix and match from other collections in the shadow box set.
Well my two are back from the dark frosty lane, and I'll also agree with Dragonsnap, it has been a very sad blog over the last year, all I hope for is that 2017 see's us reading happier more uplifting comments on this beautiful craft blog.
Sending hugs to help keep spirits high and hope it helps brighten this cold frosty day xxx

  9. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a gorgeous card today, I absolutely love the ribbon frame, never thought of that so will be trying it myself it looks so effective.

Pam sounds like you had a wonderful time yesterday with the family, it is fantastic making all these memories.

Early start for us today as our car has to go in for it's MOT today, had it almost 3 years, but got confirmation that our new mobility car has been ordered, so should get that in March, having the same make and model but a petrol 1.4 turbo this time, I have not driven for 20 years now so hubby does all the running around.

Thinking of so many of you, especially, Tina T, Peter, Elaine, Andrew, Tina, Tracey, Laine, Yvonne, sending special hugs to you to hope that things get sorted out quickly.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  17. Good morning Sue and crafters all,
What a beautiful card, the flowers look very 3D encircled in a ribbon covered circle- so elegant!!!!
Pam - so pleased you had a great day with your daughter and nephew and grandchildren at the cinema and your carvery . Yes I remember the CLAMPETTS, programmes of my childhood.
Peter had been moved from Majors to the AAU and is waiting for a bed on a ward!!
When I left him last night he was on his third bad of fluids, but this has given him the runs!!!! Unfortunately he was not able to control his bowels and the nurses had not given him his nurse call buzzer. He was fed up as some of the staff where as he put it "Quite Shirty" as e had messed. When he told me this I had words with the ward sister - not good enough. He is on IV antibiotics and fragmin injections. So will ring in an hour or so when shift changes done. Pam,
June , Nanna Tina, Elaine and all you lovely ladies on the blog I send you all our love and crafty hugs to all.

  106. Hi, Sue,
What a delightful card today! I love the way the flowers are peeking through the aperture.
Just got back from the vet, hence my post being late. Nothing to worry about thankfully, just the last monthly kitten check as he's 6 months old on Sunday. He didn't think too much of having his claws cut. I usee to do it but decided he needed them a bit sharper for protection now that he goes outside so much. Hopefully my hands will have a chance to heal up before the claws turn into little daggers again...he does love attacking me! He was on the greenhouse roof at 2am trying to get onto the bungalow roof in the dark, little menace lol.
Enjoy what's left of today, people.
    Happy crafting...

  115. Hello Sue,
I've been putting this post off as I'm very much in the minority as I'm not too keen on the ribbon wrapped frame! There I've said it! It doesn't mean you have stopped being my favourite card designer just now and again we see something we are not so fond of! I like the rest of the card but the bandaged frame spoils it for me! Very very sorry! I'm an honest Wilsonette!!! Lol!
