  2. Lovely card, gorgeous.
Congratulations to Sandra enjoy your win.
Elaine, Andrew has been a star, he is allowed his frustrations, hope this treatment sits better with him.
Betty, that sounds painful, take it easy.
June, how are you, hope the meds are keeping pain at bay, suppose they will have had you up on that leg by now. Slowly does it.
Tina, hope Peter has settled now his Sky is fixed. He needs something to distract him whilst he is recovering.
Tina and Mick, thinking of you. Hope you are coping well.
Lorraine, you still don't seem to be well, please take care.
Well, between Laine and PP and the Carlisle Gang of Four, we do get some riotous stories, glad you enjoyed your break girls.
My colleague at work, Gary, has a lovely wife who has been through Breast Cancer, radical surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. During this he wrote a song for her, they have recorded it and want to give it to charity to raise funds. However this is proving very difficult. Through another colleague, who also has a radio programme, we managed to get it played on air fir the first time last night. It was amazing, I was in tears listening, I have to admit it always does that to me. It is a song of sorrow turned to hope love and support. We hope some good can come if it for charity. He says I am his Manager now.
    Hugs to all.

  13. Morning Sue. I love the design to this card, those little cottage scenes and the woodland trees and deer especially when cut in dark card throws some mystery into the picture. I love how you can almost tell a story with these two little dies, very clever of you Sue, I bet the falling snow folder behind the scene would bring a completely different look to the card. I already make 8x8 cards so don't think my nerves would take making larger than that, although I've been asked for a few corporate cards where they've requested A4 size and my heart has almost left my chest cavity lol. But for those crafters moving up a few sizes it's always so nice and helpful when we are shown how to extend backgrounds and other dies.
Congrats to the owner of the Wednesday giveaway card, the background alone is wonderful to look at so add to it that it's a Sue original it's a win win so enjoy.
Hope the knee pain is less than yesterday June and that's how I think, with each new day you will be in less pain and stronger, so work towards tomorrow, I should imagin by now knowing how valuable beds are they will be thinking of discharge soon and out patient physio, so work hard and get ready for a new you 😊 and look forward to taking breakfast to hubby as a nice surprise for him, take care.
I will send you my usual hugs for the day and hope you have a good one Sue. I may play with the pixies later and see what a mess I can create !!!!
    Have a good one xxx

  25. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, lovely card today. Will save video until I go home.

Well op went well the Dr. said, they were all so kind, but they are so busy here it is amazing how they cope.

I got up twice on Thursday to use the commode, but had lots of bleeding, then been in the chair yesterday for most of the morning, there is a little old lady of 92 who had a fall and has a fracture, she has severe dementia, and shouts all day and all night she really needs someone to sit with her but they cannot spare the time. It is such a shame, even with 2 doors closed between us and removing both my hearing aids she still keeps us awake so we have to take cat nap whilst we can. Had physio round yesterday they will be here again today, the exercises do hurt but no pain no gain, I have a long road ahead of m

Wishing everyone well, I will catch up on all the news when I go home.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Tracy - one year gone and another to go before IV time - what a goal, in every way!
Wheely and Billy - big hugs, hope you both get lots of rest.
Fluffycat - oh my, hope the patient doesn't try your patience too much - early days so perhaps he'll soon be raring to go. Thanks for asking - Tacker gorgeous but owner not come forward yet.
Laine, PP, June, Betty and all - happy painfree weekend.

This card has such a wonderfully classical feel to it and I just love the whimsical details too, the two deer just above the ribbon and also how the static behind the acetate has caught the micro beads to look like the snow is still falling...perfect!

Sandra - Congratulations on your win, I'm sure that card is even more stunning in real life.

June - glad to hear the operation went well and you're now on your journey to recovery - sounds like you'll be glad to be discharged asap if only so you can get some sleep!...

Pam, well done to Gary and well done to you in managing to get the record played. I wish I could support him in some way. By the way 9 of us meet up in Carlisle from all over the place, one comes from the deep South (of England!) and another even comes over from Germany (she is a Yorkshire girl though)!!!
Thinking of Tina & Mick, I can't believe he's still waiting for a peg to be fitted. Tina & Peter, enjoy the Christening, and Elaine & Andrew.
June S, sorry to read that you are experiencing such a difficult time. I hope the physio manages to help and that the bleeding stops, then you'll get home and be able to get some sleep.

Pam if there is any way in which we can buy the record let us know

  88. Hi Sue, I enjoyed watching you create this card on TV but have still watched the video to properly absorb the instructions. Now you know I don't normally like too much black but I look on this as a silhouette, much like the 3 Kings striplet last year, so it is good for me. Marrying black with white and kraft card is great and I love it.

Myra, Maureen, Norah, Diane and apparently five other unknowns - I am dubbing you the 'Carlisle Crew' and warning the local police before you next descend on an unsuspecting town. I still don't know who to believe but I am glad you all had a lovely time.

Pat L, Laine, Myra, 'P' and Tracy - hubby is behaving himself reasonably well and the good thing is I am getting my daily exercise just running up and down stairs :-)

Wheely - glad that Billy is coping and taking his meds. I hope you get the sleep you need.

Pam - what an amazing thing that Gary is doing. As others have said, it would be good if he could get some publicity on the internet. I wish him every success.

June - good to hear from you. Happy for you that the op is over and done with but sorry for your sleepless night. Unless they have experience of it everyone thinks hospitals are quiet places - nothing could be further from the truth! Hope you are managing some cat-naps in between meals and physio.

  94. A lovely what I would call compositional card, assuming it makes sense. I know what I mean. I wish I had the guts to use kraft card.

June, your comments about lack of sleep on your ward made me laugh out loud, not at your misfortune, believe me I have every sympathy, but at the memory it suddenly provoked. In my very early fifties I found myself being checked for a suspected cardiac problem and was on a ward with four ladies with varying stages of dimentia who kept the other two of us awake all night by their shouting but who then slept all day when it was too noisy on the ward for us two to sleep. I was so glad to be diagnosed with strained chest muscles and return home!!! I trust your recovery will go well and you will soon enjoy being pain free for the first time in, what I suspect, is a long while ; three friends who have gone through the same are now all well healed and have no regrets of the initial pain and discomfort.

    Teresa

I've tried to do this several times today! All my gadding about is catching up with me!
Today's card is beautiful - I'm coming round to shaker cards! Yours are rather classy though which makes all the difference!
I love the white poinsettias with the black centres too. It's a story in a card!
Pam - what a lovely idea and as has been mentioned would be good to know if available online to help raise funds!
Frances - I'm so glad you are being kept on your toes and getting lots of exercise!! I'm forever going up and downstairs - often because I've forgotten what I went up for!!
June - great to hear from you! Sorry about the disturbance in theWard . It isn't easy. You will be glad to get home!
Tracy - Maureen was going out this evening but I believe she is stuck at home as her nose became wedged in the door! That's what happens when you tell porkie pies!!
Hugs to both Tina's !! Thinking of you all.
We have had another lovely sunny day here - cooler yes - but a lovely day!

  106. Hi Sue. Fabulous card, love the shaker. Sorry for the very brief comments this week, it's no reflection on your brilliant works of art, I've just had one of those weeks. I've had lots of extra trips to collect/return daughter to university, she was lucky enough to win tickets to the recording of "The Grand Tour" (Jeremy Clarkson etc new show) and kindly took me along - I haven't laughed so much for ages, but it caught up with me yesterday by way of a migraine. And now my secret is out, I'm not just a craft addict but I'm also a "petrol head"!
Tracy, hope your return to work goes well. June, hospitals are the worse place to recover, sending special wishes for a speedy recovery. Hugs to all. Sue xxx
