Congratulations to Heather
Elaine, glad Andrews scan was arranged quickly, and the appointment with Consuktant too. Let's hope he can start his treatment soon, fingers crossed.
Tina, hope Mick is rested after his mammoth hospital visit, they are supposed to avoid trauma not cause it.
June are you still gazing in wonder at your amazing CC prize, it was delivered super quick.
Ladies, the trees belong to the school behind me and they are so overgrown, their branches extend right over the fence for about 6 feet and cut the light out, they are blackthorn trees and their thorns are about 2 inches long. It went through my leather gardening gloves straight into my hand. I've tried to get the school to cut them back but they say they have no money. However they have cut them back on their side to extend the staff car park. They claim it is supposed to be a barrier against the playground sound.
Julie hope you can get to talk this through with someone, a counsellor or someone who has been through it.
Tracey, big hug and to all on the blog.

Good morning Sue and everyone. Beautiful card, love the fire and ice technique but this is taking it to the next level.
Congratulations Heather T on your win. Elaine, I'm glad Andrew's scan came through so quickly. Pam, I'm surprised the school said it was a money problem, they usually have a site manager/caretaker/groundsman on staff who are paid anyway so it shouldn't cost them anything. You could tell them that if they don't do it you'll get a professional in yourself and send them the bill! Hugs to all. Sue xxx

Hi Sue. You certainly have your ways of changing things up, I bet of someone was to look back over the 2015 blog you could count on one hand how many easle samples you show us, but yet again, perfection. I only ever make the larger or 7x7 size cards with a few smaller one's thrown in for those that prefer buying them at market, maybe it's because they come packed with envelopes already, maybe that's a dumb reason I don't know ! So now the dog and her man is out for the first visit of the day to the country park, I can watch your tutorial in peace.
Congratulations to Heather another member of W. W. C. and what a beauty you are now owner of, enjoy.
Enjoy your day Sue, sending hugs as usual xx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I totally agree with all the previous comments this is a gorgeous card, I like easel cards but don't make many of them so you have inspired me to have a go, might do this one in club soon so that they get a chance of the fire and ice technique.

Heather I also said nooooooooooooooo when I saw the excess flakes going in the bin but as this is a video it just had to be done so I will let you off.

Sue - got a question please - I would love to know where you got that lovely tiny blue dustpan and brush that us used recently on one of your video's (not sure if it was on this video or not - it looked like it had very soft bristles on it). It was probably from the states but I thought it would be so useful.

Congratulations to Heather, enjoy your prize

Elaine, hope Andrews scan goes well and the Consultant appointment, the sooner the treatment starts the better, I have my fingers and toes crossed too.

Tina, hope Mick is rested after his mammoth hospital visit, I agree with Pam they are supposed to avoid trauma not cause it.

Pam yes still gazing in wonder at my prize, I am one very lucky lady.

Not sure how you are going to resolve the overhanging branches issue, you might have to take advise on that one. It would be a nice gesture if the school would do it after all as someone said they have to pay the staff anyway and it is their tree that is causing the problem. What would you rather have daylight or noise, I know what I would choose.

Julie hope you can get to talk this through with someone, a counsellor or someone who has been through it.

Tracey we are all with you.

Sending lots of hugs to everyone on this beautiful sunny Saturday, I am off to my sons later for a bbq, looking forward to that.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Gorgeous card Sue. It looks great in the oval frame. I haven't tried your fire and ice technique yet... so many techniques so little time.

Had a lovely trip to Llandudno, the weather wasn't too good so we went shopping. I picked up some lovely pearl cardstock and printed vellum that was an absolute bargain.
I was surprised that they didn't have any CE dies. Maybe they had sold out, it was rather busy there.

When I arrived home, the postman had delivered my Swiss background dies so can't wait to play with them.
Have a lovely weekend all

Pam it does depend on the size of the school as to whether they have grounds/maintenance staff. Write directly to the chair of governors via the school so it has to be discussed at committee, invite them round to see the problem and hopefully you will come to a mutual agreement. If that fails talk to your local council and see what they suggest . I hope you get it sorted xxxx

Hi Sue, gorgeous easel card and I love the fire and ice technique. Very clear video as usual, thank you. Sadly I don't have the Noble ovals but can probably make something similar using the rectangles.

Pam - when you cut the wretched blackthorns I do hope that you are throwing the prunings back over the fence into the school grounds and not disposing of them yourself. I believe you are legally entitled to do this and having to clear them up may make them do something about it.

June - have a search on e-bay for the miniature dustpan & brush, that is where I found mine and it wasn't expensive.

Congratulations Heather on being the Wednesday Winner, it is a beautiful card.

Hi Sue. WOW What a gorgeous card, very opulent with all the gilding flakes. A very special easel card made with your fire and ice technique. The poppies look fantastic with the gilding flakes. Will try this one tomorrow. Thanks for another great video even when i shouted no when the flakes went in the bin but then we all have accidents in our craft rooms. Sue i watched John on Hochanda lastnight and this morning and he was showing your dies off beautifully with all the different ways you can use them. Congratulations to Heather on your beautiful win.
June Smith. I got my dust pan & brush from Julia Watts web site i think it was either 1- 99 or 2-99 and i have had it for ages it comes in about 4 or 5 different colours. It works really well as i even use it to clean my key board on my computer lol. Hope this helps.

Beautiful card. I do like the fire and ice technique. I spent yesterday playing with gilding flakes and have changed my mind as to which are my favourite colours which doesn't help my bank balance. I have never tried making an easel card, having seen yours,I must try again.

The dustpan and brushes are widely available. I bought mine a couple of years back on a riverine web site after seeing my parchment craft tutor using one. Now one set is on the craft table and one in my parchment craft tools box. So, so so useful!!!!!

So unusual for you to make a 'proper' card, Sue, and an easel one at that! Always like to see the fire and ice technique, altogether a lovely card. Thanks as ever for the video - no mystery to making easels at all. Must try one soon.
Pam, of course you are legally entitled to cut back overhanging branches, but disposing of blackthorn is something else. You'd think the school would be more sympathetic and not give such a silly excuse: nowadays no-one takes responsibility when causing a nuisance, as Elaine knows only too well. Yes, a letter to the governors best bet, but guess you have it sorted for now.
Laine, sorry for all your migraines, hope you're much better. Not long to AP!
Julie Laz - good for you, as you say, nothing to lose. Will it be a long wait though? Let us know how you get on, it's such a big step to take.
Well done to Heather treble on the card win.
Hugs all round.

Hello Sue,
I'm sorry I'm so late - I started to comment a few times today and was interrupted each time! Yesterday's cards were / are beautiful and my favourite is the first one as I just love your poinsettias! Your poinsettia cards have been the ones most repinned of all the cards I have!
( How about 16 in the last three weeks! ) I'm talking about the same card - a red poinsettia one with white overlay! It's a favourite of mine too.
June - thanks! I've survived and enjoyed my week even though I'm rather tired now. Guess who snoozed in the chair yesterday afternoon!
I'm so pleased your win has arrived and that you ar so thrilled with it! Enjoy using it my friend!
I'm sorry I can't remember who mentioned the dustpan and brush but I got mine from Julia Watts website and it didn't cost very much.
Congratulations Heather on your win! It is a beautiful card. Enjoy!
Pam - ouch these thorns can be lethal - take care! I'm always getting caught in our pyracantha and it's nowhere near so bad!
I'm sorry I haven't read everything but will try to catch up!

Pam, if the school won't clear the trees and they are a council school go to your county council as they are the landowners. If it is an academy contact the company responsible for running it. If all else fails the local paper or radio will kick them into touch, big hugs x

Big congratulations to Heather, enjoy your card xxx

I know I've missed a lot but from reading today's posts I want to send my best wishes and hugs for various reasons to Julie Laz, Elaine and Andrew, Tina and Mick, Tracy, Laine and anyone else who is having health problems or difficulties in their lives x

I've been absent because in the space of 5 days I went from up high to down low. My doc agreed I needed to get things sorted with my head & neck as research had pointed to a link between that and the condition I have, we didn't have time to deal with other issues we spoke at such legnth. The CCG then refused to refer me to the hospital I've already been to, one of a small handful that has the diagnostic capability. I will fight it but I found out the day of a funeral, of a musician friend and it was a stark reminder of what ability I have lost but that was just one love of many that has fell by the wayside thanks to my ropey DNA. I will fight the decision, I do know people with experience in this plus the charity for the condition will help but after 5 days of finally some hope it's damn hard to take. I can't explain more here as it's a long explanation. If I felt fatigued before it's double now and I have to regroup in a big way. I may not be around much as a result as on top of I'm adjusting to a new routine of daily help which has caused extra migraines too, talk about everything at once! I feel guilty venting as i know others are suffering too but venting to Mr just makes it worse, I hate asking for any help too so the new routine is not easy to take but it has helped with my skin which is the start of me accepting this but my head is a big mess on a few fronts and I need to get it back together asap. First thing I need to do is sort my sleep pattern... 4:16am and counting! I'll see you soon when I've dug some positivity out from the back of the wardrobe... I know it's there somewhere ;-)

Sorry again for the long post x

Sending love and extra big hugs to all my friends... Lynda, Laine, Yvonne, Maria, P, Fluffycat, Lorraine F, Theresa W, Marg, Jan, Norah, Pat L and Sarah, Tina Eldridge- hugs for all your family Tina and anyone I forgot (it's late/ early) wishing every single person who visits this amazing blog a beautiful Sunday and a great new week. I will see you all very soon,
