Many Thanks

Hi there crafters!  Today's offering is a white and rich plum combo (I know it may look black on some monitors, but it is a very deep plum colour).  I started by cutting six Portuguese borders out of coconut white card.  I covered a another piece of white card with a sticky self adhesive sheet and then laid my borders across it alternating the direction of the scallops.  Once in place, I coated the remaining area of the sticky sheets with Iced Snow for a lovely tone on tone bling.  I wrapped a piece of matching Raisin satin ribbon around the card on the left side and attached the ends to the back.  I made a rolled ribbon flower following my tape method, which is the very first tutorial listed at the top of my blog if you want a closer look.  I attached it to the card with a glue dot and some Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue for good measure.  I seated it with some Dandelion Clocks and Maidenhair fern pieces as accents.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it with the Pierced Flags die set, then added a slightly larger plum mat to it.  The Majestic Monarch die cut in Rich plum card was added to the upper right corner of the card.  I finished the card with a simple white on white mat as it was getting a bit too large to add my pierced edge to it!  The finished dimensions are 8" x  9" in size.

A little bit of a tease I know, but just to give you the heads up, I have a new die launch later on in the week!    All for now,  Sue x

Lovely card, Sue, do like the rich plum and the borders used as a background with a touch of sparkle, and the flower and embellishments too. Love it all!
Am one of many who have already ordered from the new release (having learnt a lesson about waiting too long!) and really looking forward to seeing what you will do with some of them.
On a bright note, Hochanda say that their website will be fully up and running on Wednesday - just in time to iron out any further problems before your shows! Will be great to see you again.

Welcome home, hope all is well. The dark plumb is such a deep regal colour has to be seen to be appreciated. Although there seems to be a lot of instructions it also seems to be in the quick and easy category and can be replicated with so many of your other dies if like me you don't own those you used , it really is a lovely riches looking card to start this exciting week. Talking of which, HOW many to chose from ? All I can say is absolutely stunning and I shall never catch up at this rate ! I still have most of your 1st ever design's to adopt let alone the 2nd 3rd 4th plus all the festive dies ! I really need to rob a bank lol. But I'm so looking forward to seeing the samples that match. You sure are a tease Sue Wilson lol.
Have a good day whatever your jet lag allows you to do !
Sending hugs to you Sue, and also to Alison, Sam, Elizabeth and Tina. Hope you are able to enjoy your gift TOB xxx

Morning Sue
I have some rich plum card and it is a beautiful colour. This card is absolutely delightful but the true beauty of the colour you have used is not portrayed very accurately. I don't think this detracts away from how glorious this masterpiece is though.
Apologies for my absence yesterday. The boys and I went to a bbq at my best friends in Petersfield in Hampshire. She used to live 2 streets away but moved to 'sunnier parts' a good few years ago. Anyway, a crowd of 'Croydonians' congregated for a lovely afternoon of food fun and frivolity. Said mob consisted of a very close knit bunch of friends partners and offspring who have been my emotional support over the last few years. It was such a lovely afternoon but I am 'cream crackered'.
Tomorrows post will hopefully be much more 'Yvonne like' as I will try and catch up on missed comments and underhanded insults (Lorraine).
Have a lovely day everyone whilst trying to contain your excitement over the new launch this week!!!! WHOOPEE x
I am off to have a requisite slumber before my body realises how much wild partying it participated in yesterday and decides to go on strike.

Hello Sue & WW!
Oh this card is quite nice! The color isn't showing up quite right on my iPhone, but I can imagine the rich plum as it is one of my favorites. I love the rolled flower, it's such a pretty addition. The versatility of your dies is amazing - although I have to say I probably wouldn't recognize just how versatile they are if it weren't for your videos and explanations. You've certainly taught me to look beyond the obvious. I know I keep saying it in 1 way or another, but your creativity is astounding! I'm so glad & appreciative that you share it with us! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Craftyrn- glad I could make you laugh :) (sorry for the embarrassment tho)! Yes, it's so hard to wait to order more dies! I sound so greedy, but I want to have all Sue's dies - and I want them now lol! I sound like a spoilt child! At least I'm not lying on the ground throwing a hissy fit (although, if it would help me get them, I'd probably be willing to try)! I hope you enjoy your holiday in Wales!
Lorraine, glad you were able to capture Brodie mid leap so he didn't get away again! He probably wasn't amused, might have cursed you a little bit for foiling his escape, but, hey, we've got to keep them safe!
Yep, the Portugese are 2nd on my wish list, right under the Canadians. So if you've already had 2 shipments this week, with more on the way, I shouldn't feel bad about placing another order so soon after receiving one right? Now that my conscience is feeling a little better, I need to convince my bank account :/
I haven't had any sneak peeks at the new releases, maybe that's a good thing?
Wheely Bad, I was the one who wants to try the glossy accents in lieu of the lacquer, but no chance to play yet. If I get to it first, I'll let you know. Creativity & children go hand in hand in my book, so it seems like a reasonable assumption. But children and exhaustion (my exhaustion) also go hand in hand- so I never pursued that as a full time profession. I'm impressed and appreciative for those who do. So thank you to all you teachers past & present!
Theresa, I heard it from you first (oh my giddy aunt), but am certain it will come out of my mouth sometime in the future- it just seems so perfect in certain situations. Perhaps because I've some British in me (my great grandmother was born in England)- it speaks to some part of my soul. Maybe that's why I love this blog so much too. Well that and the fact there are so many funny & kind followers and of course there is Sue & her incredible talent!
On that note- here's wishing everyone a superb Monday! Thanks for all the laughter and warmth!

Hi Sue & Wilsonettes What a striking, elegant card you delight us with today; just what I need to send me back to work with a smile (I’ll probably need it), the flower is simply to drool for, must get that Raisin ribbon to find its way out of the hat. I do have the Portuguese background & Lisbon but, drat, not the Border set, I wonder if it will look as stunning & effective with Canadian or New York Borders or failing that Gemini Die or the Elegant Laced Edger, oh my mind is in such a spin because the possibilities have now become somewhat endless. But, I do have the Rich Plum card & it really is gorgeous in real. Guess I’ll have to wish really hard when I bring out the hat next pay day in the hope that I will be able to complete the Portuguese set.

Yes Sue you are a jolly tease, trying to decide what die/s to purchase next would put my head all in a spin so rather than sitting there looking like Reagan in that horror movie (can’t recall the title, my friend had begged me to go & see it with her in my naive days & when we lived in Plymouth; I vaguely remember why she needed me to tag along as the thought of it still gives me the shivers) with her head spinning round I resorted to the hat idea; thank goodness I did as I for one would like to keep my head on my shoulders instead of having it spinning off into the wild blue yonder...Lol

We all know how elegant & striking Sue’s cutting dies are & how difficult it can be to decide which one/s we are going to use for our next card, well I think I may have solved that dilemma, I’ve decorated a small deep box & wrote on paper pieces the names of all Sue’s cutting dies, that’s why it is deep; got to think of future dies finding their way into my stash; Lol (have done the same for Xmas dies; the flower dies/stamps & with the colour card/paper aswel for another pot, i.e. R, Y, Bl, G, Blk, Br, Gry, O, Pch, Pur, Lilac, Pk, Crm, Wht, Gld, Silv), I shall then choose from each one with up to 3 - 4 dies for main.

Yesterday my friends I failed to comment as I took advantage of a rare sunny day to work in the garden, weeding, pruning, sweeping oh & tidying out the shed. Took me all day & after making Mr B’s evening meal I kept dozing off to sleep, so my good intentions so to speak should be taken lightly & with a pinch of salt. Therefore it is with great pleasure that I send congratulations to the comment winners - enjoy your lovely gifts x x x Special congratulations to those of you who proudly achieved their lovely wins at the shows x x x

DIANE – hope your daughter settles down to Uni, well she just had to take flight didn’t she what with a parrot in the family – walking? Guess you’ve had your wings clipped as flying would have been the most obvious & most inconspicuous choice – Lol x x x

THERESA – “oh my giddy aunt” are you kidding me; Lol I say it all the time especially when kiddies get themselves into all sorts of fights, scrapes & predicaments...if you say it with the right facial expression it stops them in their tracks because they do find it rather funny & upset etc is temporarily diverted x x x

WHEELY BAD – popcorn? At least your choice was edible – Lol, I had to identify salads with a picture of cute baby chicks thrown in, dread to think what would happen if I had ticked the chick pic aswel – it would have put a new perspective on tossed chicken salad...sorry couldn’t resist that one. It also concerns me T when you say you have part of a Lurcher on your lap & all is well, I’m pleased for you re the latter but I dread to think where you have stashed the other part – Lol please give yourself & he/she a big (((HUG))) from me & x x x

SAM, MARIA hope you’re enjoying your hols with good weather to boot & Molly sincerely hope you enjoyed your holiday too, sending (((HUGS))) to you, Melody, Grandad & family x x x

Gosh the time, must say bye bye for now, sending love ‘n’ (((HUGS))) to you Sue & to all our fabulous Wilsonettes Beth B x x x

Afternoon Sue, What a great way to use your border dies. Whilst I haven't got that particular one, I am going to try it out with the ones I have got. Nice to see the ribbon rose once again and looks so pretty alongside the dandelion die and fern. Such a pretty card. Looking forward to your new dies but I haven't got the ones I now want from your last showing. If only we didn't have to eat, then I would save a fortune to spend on more dies!! Hugs xx Pauline A

Hello Sue.

Stunning. I love the background, I think this technique is so effective. I also love the rich colour you have used and the floral arrangements is so dramatic in my opinion. Plus the Majestic Monarch as a final touch, lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Good afternoon lovely Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes!

What a truly scrumptious card, though my I pad shows it up as black on the main pic I can see the plum tones in the close up. I have never attempted a ribbon rose but clearly I will have to give it a go cos the effect is simply stunning. I am awaiting the Lisbon and Porto dies but clearly I should be getting the Portugese border also if this card is anything to go by. Only you could take one focal die and create a thing of beauty. I am so excited for your new die launch, I have pre ordered the pierced rectangles and I blame the bad influences on this blog....it can't be my fault that I have little or no self control can it? I cannot wait to see your unique interpretation of each die, it's never the same looking at just the packaging.....or I just don't have your imagination and creative flair:-(
I've decided to abandon all thoughts of stripping the beds and tackling that mountain of ironing because we've received Rebecca's bottle of sunshine and it's such a rare occurance in Stirling that I just have to take full advantage. If the weather wasn't so glorious I may have considered a hostile takeover Yvonne but who am I to profit when you are so clearly incapacitated....I do have some(shady) principles!
Think that I may frighten the neighbours and change out of my silky Pjs into a bikini top, I may be in danger of getting arrested for indecent exposure though!
Hope you are all enjoying a little bit of sunshine wherever you are, thanks Rebecca, better late than never:-)

Love and crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxxxx

Hi Sue, lovely card today, so elegant and it did look like black and white initially until I took a closer look and also then read what you had used. So elegant.

Oh no! NOT ANOTHER NEW DIE SET! I know you want to sell as many dies as you can, make lovely cards and of course, make money but us crafters need to spend money on food as well.......

Can't wait to see what you have on offer though, even if it means adding another piece of paper to my wish list.

Lots of love and craftihappiness everyone.

Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a lovely card Sue and with the tone on tone white and sparkle it is really brought to life with the darker beautiful ribbon and rose and the plum accents you have put around the card just adds to its beauty.
Well i am down at mum's helping put up cladding around the eaves of the house and i just wonder how many have one like mine that thinks you are a mind reader to know what they are thinking and wanting done, held up to them, caught from them, know to run around to the back of the house etc the list is endless. Saying that he has got me well and truly knackered is an understatment. It's the faffing about he does to put up a board is this straight, is this where it should go, are you sure, you never told me that i hadn't put the nails in straight.....AHHHHHH!!!! Give me strength, how can i tell from the ground if the white nail heads are running straight with each other against white cladding. Lord preserve their intelligence because nothing else is. It has went on and on since 10:30 this morning and we only have 2 sides done. The lads have come in to lay the linoleum down in the remaider of the house and since two of the places are the kitchen and back kitchen that he is traipsing in and out off, i have told him i was going up the road. My head is like a burst couch with him and his yelling at me for not doing something or why didn't i tell him. I hate it when he has a few day holidays as he makes my life miserable just trying to keep up with his needs, wants and where's and can you do's. So girls i am going for 40 winks to try and recharge the battery and i hope that you have all had lovely weathere like we have up here at Costa de Glenochil.
Love and hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hello Sue, and all the ladies.
Love this beautifully stunning card, Sue. I brought some Maidenhair fern from my mother's house when she died in 1980, and it is obviously in just the right place, as over the years it has grown into an amazing show stopper. It's so fine and ethereal. I love it, as I do your die.
Rest up Norah, just leave him up the ladder and go away!!!
Beth, take it easy, don't do too much in the garden.
Yvonne, just take it easy.
Rebecca in Colorado, where did your Gt Grandmother come from?
Myra, I didn't think there was a way that you hadn't used that butterfly die. (not good English, but you know what I mean!!!xx)
Love to all

Hi Sue

What a gorgeous card, I dont have that particular border but I can see it done with any of my other borders or gemini dies, doing a little self back slapping for getting the plum cardstock, I love dark, jewel like colours. I have resolved to adding the ribbon to my list... I decided as my plan to do Ally Pally fell through I'm going to treat myself to make up for it so these talked about Hochanda shows, a few 'needs' I haven't yet picked up and a launch... I have my eye on quite a few so I need to make some decisions! Getting quite excited about it all tbh!

Mr W doesn't comment on the craft stuff, mostly cos I know how much he spends on his interests in a year so he knows he has no reason to complain! He has noted that the dies do seem to multiply to the point where the need for new storage seems to coincide with a SW die release or TV appearance... funny, that...!

Beth, you cracked me up today. To clarify, the rest of Billy the Lurcher was using the 2/3rds of the sofa I wasn't using. He can curl up in a little ball and just take up a chair or cram himself between Mr W and I but he does love to lounge, he's a master of the comic sleeping position as well as being able to stretch himself across the largest area possible (running dogs are called long dogs for a reason!) Lynda, you know he loves a cuddle/ to use me as a pillow! Both of you, please make sure you rest and recover and Lynda, give Annie a puppy hug from Billy x

Yvonne, sounds like you had a lovely time. Make sure you take time to recover too.

Lorraine, I hope you weren't arrested today(!) and enjoyed the weather! I'm not allowed to wear shorts in sight of the road for the fear of my pasty white legs dazzling drivers! I worked outdoors for years, in shorts and the darkest my legs got was off white!

Rebecca, the sunshine even reached us here on the east coast where it mingled with a nice north sea, chilly, northerly breeze, although I wasn't outside in it much, it did make the whole house brighter and warmer. Thank you for being my partner in crime (or grime, depending how it turns out, lol) in the "great glossy accents experiment", I look forward to the report on your findings and any research I do I shall share in return! I'd love to know too where your great grandmother was from too.

Steph, hows the wedding card coming along? I'd love to know what you decided to do.

I'm afraid ladies and gents, I write a lot more politely than I talk. Not so much "oh my giddy aunt", more like "oh f****** b***** b*******"!

Anyway, a late one today. I was up and out of bed but camped on the sofa, had a couple of little sleeps and (excitement time) went for a little drive to a local 24hr supermarket this evening for a basketful of bits Mr W can't get where he usually does our shopping. Got back just before 9pm, put the telly on and fell asleep again for an hour before Billy went for his bedtime wander round the garden so I am off to bed too. Wishing every one of you a Terrific Tuesday with hugs from me and wags and woofs from Billy to all those crafty, furry friends.

A beautiful card with that lovely plum ribbon rose. I really must start looking at my border dies as potential backgrounds.
For anyone still having problems with the robot catcher, try using Mozilla Firefox as your web browser. After nearly tearing my hair out in frustration at the increasingly difficult pictures I was presented with and having to try again and again on another browser, Mozilla Firefox just lets me click on the 'I'm not a robot' box and bingo I get a tick.
Take care everyone.
