Lacey Tiers/ Sneak Peek

Hi bloggers!  Here is a sneak peek from my favourite bundle from the show.  It is the one that includes Becca Feeken's dies.  This die set is called Lacey Tiers and it is stunning!  I contacted Becca and she sent me some cards to take on the show with me (also stunning!)  and you will be able to see a sneak peek on her beautiful blog right here amazingpapergrace.com  I think Becca's work is second to none and I am sure you will agree that her designs are so incredibly inspiring too.  The beauty in this die is that it can be used in so many ways.  My first demo on Sunday uses it in a completely different fashion.  I'm not saying anymore, you will just have to tune in to see!   Although there is a fair bit of stock, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see these sell out!  I would say, if you like them,  don't drag your feet on them.  For today's card, I embossed my coconut white card background with the Heart Lattice Embossing Folder and matted it on Periwinkle blue card.  Next I cut the Lacy Tier die in white card (which I used for another card altogether), but I carefully removed the die cut and made sure the fall away pieces stayed in the die as those are the ones that I wanted for this card.  I put a tiny drop of Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue on the back of each piece of the fall away, then I lined up my die on a square of Periwinkle blue card and simply embossed the design without cutting it.  The glue allows the fall away bits to transfer and be embossed in place with the blue card so you get a really pretty two colour pattern.  I added a bit of glue to the larger inside pieces and sprinkled them with Diamond Snow glitter for a bit of bling.  I cut a frame from the smallest sizes of the Grand Square dies and mounted it with foam pieces and placed it over my embossed piece for the focal element on my card.  I used the pretty scrolled frame from the Large Elegant Sentiment set by Justrite and stamped it with a clear perfect medium pad and heat embossed with white powder.  I cut it out with the matching Vintage Labels four die.  I stamped it again, but this time I fussy cut just the inside area and stamped my sentiment in black.  I mounted it on foam above the other piece for dimension.  I cut a Fancy Tag two die in white and, like yesterday's card, I used it to "hold" my tag and add a bit of fancy scroll around it too.  I finished my card with my usual double mat with a pierced inner layer in coconut white card and added some flatback pearls as finishing touches.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

What a beautiful beautiful gift for Friday 13th and if all 'Wilsonettes' don't mind I'm taking this just for me - My Granddaughter went into labour last night so by now I should have another Great Grandchild - a boy this time.
Today's dies are absolutely fantastic and I can just see me trying to keep all the fall aways in place -it may take a few years to accomplish this lol - but try I will. Will be trying with some of my other dies too as they leave beautiful patterns when cut.

  147. I love how you used the little off cut pieces from the dies, that is so smart, I've never thought of that before, it would really work for some of the die d-lite medallions I have - I'll give it a go! Your card is so lovely Sue, this is a really thoughtful card.

  148. Sue. Love the colour of todays card. It must have been a labour of love glueing all those fall away little pieces - you have some patience girl!! Still, the effect it produced is amazing. Fab card. Jean
